Daily Mirror scoops 10 nominations at the UK Press Awards
The Daily Mirror has been nominated for a spectacular 10 awards at the annual Press Awards, regarded as “the Oscars of British Journalism”.
Editor Alison Phillips is up for Tabloid Interviewer of the Year for her astonishing interview with TV legend Fiona Phillips on her Alzheimer’s diagnosis. She’s joined by showbiz editor Tom Bryant in the same category, while Graham Hiscott is in the running for Business and Finance Journalist of the Year.
Nada Farhoud’s dispatches from the UK and across the globe have earned her a nomination for Environment Journalist of the Year. Meanwhile, Andy Stenning is up for Photographer of the Year and John Stevens is in line for Political Journalist of the Year.

And our front page letter from seven-year-old Poppy begging Rishi Sunak to extend free school meals is also in the running for one of the prestigious awards. Finally, judges recognised the Mirror’s outstanding campaigning, giving us a nod for our successful Ticket Office Campaign and the Time for Action on Danger Dogs campaign.
The Daily Mirror was crowned Daily Newspaper of the Year in 2022 after landing a hat-trick of prestigious gongs at the London Press Club Awards. Judges praised our coverage of the "Partygate" scandal, our ground-breaking series on disability in the UK which was edited and written exclusively by people with disabilities, and our cost-of-living coverage - including work to expose soaring executive pay.
