The Traitors is back with a bang - and millions of us are once again obsessed with the drama.

The BBC show - which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman - sees 22 people locked in Ardross Castle estate in Scotland where they partake in Apprentice-style tasks to earn cash, while a murky subgroup of 'traitors' murders everyone in a bid to score cash.

The most dramatic scenes occur around the round table - where the group try to suss out who is a traitor - and often disastrously get it wrong as the popularity of individual characters sways them.

The new series launched two weeks ago - and so far, one (fairly terrible) traitor has been sniffed out after failing to stay undercover, while three remain, and so far have evaded suspicion.

But could this be about to change? Fan favourite Diane Carson has been chosen by traitors as their next victim, in a complicated task where she needed to be duped into drinking from a cursed chalice filled with bubbly wine before the clock struck midnight.

The episode ended on a cliffhanger, with fans set to find out on January 17 if she managed to escape her (almost certain) fate of death. She could technically escape if she manages to not take a swig before midnight strikes, or if she suddenly realises that traitor Miles is trying to murder her, as this was a challenge in the previous series.

Diane, 63, is playing the game alongside her son Ross - and the steely pair have evaded suspicion so far, with none of the cast noticing their secretive chats.

But one of her other children is famous actor Kerr Logan, 35, who has been in shows like HBO's Game of Thrones and Channel 4's London Irish, a hilarious comedy that was overlooked. It was created and written by Lisa McGee, who is more well-known as the genius behind Derry Girls.

The 35-year-old played Matthos Seaworth in the fantasy drama - and he had no clue his mother was a contestant on the BBC One reality show. Taking to social media, Logan posted the promo picture of his mum from the programme.

He wrote: "I'm not joking, a family member of mine is in this photo, and I've only just found out. My mother is on The Traitors. She's bonkers. I'm scared."

Diane says her kids persuaded her to go on the show - and she almost didn't finish series one as she thought it might put her off appearing. She said: "[I applied] because my children said I could never do something like this! We started watching series one together and l just loved the idea of the challenge. I thought it would be great to have a go and see if I could do it.

"[I entered] after only watching one and a half episodes! I didn’t want to keep watching in case it put me off. My son put me in for a Tough Mudder once, we were raising money for Alzheimer's because we had lost my dad suddenly.

"I just kept googling it and ended up getting myself so worked up that I didn't sleep the night before! Even so, when I did it, I ended up loving it and I was buzzing for a good week. I have ended up watching series one now because I was just completely hooked. I loved it and luckily, I want to try it even more now."

Happily, she didn't end up as a traitor - admitting she thought she would be 'awful' - but did come armed with a game plan in case she did get picked.

"I think if you take it on, you must be prepared to go the whole way, I’d like to think I could do it. Although there were people last series, like Andrea, that I would have struggled to get rid of.

"I totally admired her, she'd lost her partner, she was having a go and doing her best. I think I'd really struggle if it was someone I admired like that. You have to be very careful about who you get friendly with. I might find it hard, but I'd still like to say I’d be able to go the whole way. You’re put into this and you've nothing else in your life other than this game for potentially three weeks, it’ll be so easy to let it take over.
