Zidane, Beckham, Gerrard, the list goes on and on of iconic footballers who've worn the adidas Predator.

However, today a new era has now officially kicked off with adidas launching their new edition of the famed boot. Back in December the German sportswear giant released a limited edition version of the Predator that had been brought to people's attention in recent weeks after Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham and Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold had both worn Predators on the pitch.

Adidas says the new Predator 24 offers a unique design proposition - what would the original 1994 Predator look and feel like if it was launched today? Well, now we can see. The inspiration is clear, as it blends the aesthetic DNA of the Predator Original with the lightweight design capabilities seen in Predstrike and Predator 30.

Those seeking that 1990s colourway might not be getting the exact specifications but the new boot does carry the famed black, white and red but in a bolder hue and vibrant yellow taping. The silhouette comes in three designs too which offer a combination of features from laced, laceless and a classic laced variant with a fold over tongue for those of us wanting a pure hit of nostalgia.

Adidas say there are several key design features including a lightweight soleplate and heel construction to optimize traction for movement and stability when striking the ball, while the upper provides a moulded fit with cushioning in key contact areas for comfort and a soft touch on the ball. Rubber fins are strategically placed in strike zones, to support ball grip for precision shot-making while stretch laces allows for easy entry and secure lockdown.

Crucially, for those who want the lightest fitting boot possible, the new Predator 24 joins the limited release Predstrike as the lightest boot in the franchise to date. Specifically, the Laceless Elite version that weighs just 195g in size 8.5. Already seen on Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham, adidas says Predator 24 will be worn by some of the best players in the game including Pedri, Alessia Russo, Kaddidiatu Diani, Gabriel Jesus and many more.
