Cheryl is said to be eying up a deal with Netflix as she reunites with her Girls Aloud bandmates.

The singer is preparing to head on a huge sell-out UK tour that is dedicated to the late Sarah Harding after she died of breast cancer in 2021. She will join Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts for the 30-date tour after 11 years apart. It has now been reported TV bosses have been battling to sign up the girls for a TV series to document their comeback.

Streaming platforms are keen to create a series similar to David Beckham's Netflix series Beckham and are in a "big-money bidding war" reports say. A source has claimed Netflix is the favourite to take on the girl band. They said: “They’ll also want to talk about the fallouts they’ve had, why they’re doing this now, and how they feel being back on stage.

"The girls all think it would be great to document their comeback, but they also know that it’s their personal lives – Cheryl’s especially – that bring the headlines," the source told Heat. However, it has been claimed Cheryl is torn about making the decision as she knows they will want to delve into her son Bear, who she shares with One Direction's Liam Payne.

Cheryl has kept her son away from the public eye and keeps his face hidden on social media. However, the singer recently shared how Bear, aged 6, has realised he has showbiz parents, which he deems "pretty cool". The source told the publication that Bear would "love to be involved" in a documentary, especially if bandmate Kimberley's children also take part.

The former X Factor judge took part in E4 documentary Girls Aloud: Off The Record back in 2006 on the run up to their first arena tour. The source added: “That was all pre-Bear, and she didn’t care as much back then. Now, she wants to protect Bear as much as possible, but she also knows this is too big an opportunity to turn down."

When announcing the upcoming tour, Cheryl fought back tears. Speaking on The One Show in November, she shared how she wanted to make it "magical for Sarah. She admitted: "It's very odd, if I'm completely honest. We've found every step of the way of this a bit weird. Being totally honest it will never be the same as it was."

Nadine Coyle comforted her, as Cheryl added: "But we are just trying our very best to make it magical with Sarah in mind." Kimberley Walsh chimed in: "We'd had loads of conversations coming up to our 20 year anniversary and obviously those conversations involved Sarah.

"So sadly, after she passed away, that went out the window." She then shared how they spent a lot of time together over the summer and felt an outpouring of love towards the group and for Sarah. Kimberley continued: "Suddenly it just felt like, do you know what, maybe we are ready to celebrate those 21 years. And also celebrate her." Cheryl agreed, saying: "Because she wanted to do it so much as well. We're going to honour her the best way we can and make it magical."

The Mirror has contacted Cheryl and Girls Aloud's representatives for comment.
