Thousands of people across the UK have woken up to icy and snowy roads this morning, and as the January chill blows in, it makes the commute to work and school run feel more grueling. To keep off the chill, UK shoppers are snapping up a £14 Amazon thermal set, so cosy it's kept Canadian and Finnish winter weather at bay.

The thermal leggings and long-sleeve base layer make a perfect to pop under your usual outfit, on occasions when walking around in a cosy hooded blanket or a hot water bottle in hand may not be ideal.

Shoppers can pick up the heat-trapping set for just £14.99 and choose between an all-black or grey set, you could even pick up the leggings and top separately too if you wanted different colours. The price for the set goes up to £25.99 depending on the material and colour you choose.

Thermal sets for the cold weather snap:

  • Shop thermal tops at M&S from £8.50
  • Men's thermals sets at Mountain Warehouse from £26.99

Sizes between XS and up to 3XL are still all in stock, with tight-fitting wear recommended for trapping the heat in and staying warm. Although it is made from breathable and moisture-wicking fabric, so you don't have to worry about overheating.

Even the sets priced at £25.99 are a lot cheaper than other options found online at John Lewis, Mountain Warehouse, and M&S, where individual thermal tops cost as much as £29 each. So it's no surprise to see UK shoppers snap up the set to fit in with the current cold snap.

One shopper said: "This is the second set of these I’ve had, the first I ordered in a Medium as I’m in between sizes. The material is soft against your skin and not too thick, it’s practical under another layer or two and at around £20 a set a really good buy - I was paying that just for a thermal top.

"They’re nice and stretchy and they’re long enough in the leg and body to fit me at 5ft 8in. I’ve washed and dried the first set a couple of times and they don’t seem to shrink at all.

With many other buyers sharing how they've made use of them when visiting much colder, snowy, parts of the world too; "Kept me warm freezing temperatures in the Finland snow" said one person while another recent shopper said: "I am NOT used to cold weather.I went to Canada and my gosh I was freezing, I had to wear these around the house just to be comfortably warm.

"These under loose sweats or a skirt with a sweater and I was happy. Also wore these under pants or under long socks and a skirt when I went outside. SO warm!" You can buy the Amazon thermal set here.
