Saltburn's Jacob Elordi originally tipped to star in erotic music video

Jacob Elordi was rumoured to have been in the running to appear as Troye Sivan's love interest in the music video for his song One of Your Girls.

Troye, 28, released the video for the song - which reached Number 11 on the Official Singles Chart - in October last year. The singer-songwriter appears in drag at times and dances around a shirtless former Disney star, Ross Lynch, 28, at one point.

The music video - which has been described as "steamy" - attracted much attention. Ross has now teased that he had heard that fellow actor Jacob, 26 - who stars in the acclaimed Saltburn (2023) - was meant to have his role in it.

Ross spoke about the music video whilst on the Zach Sang Show recently with his brother Rocky Lynch, 29. It was teased that Ross - who is a member of band The Driver Era with his brother Rocky - wasn't the original love interest for Troye. The radio show's co-host Dan Zolot commented: "We had Troye in like two weeks before he went to film it. [...] We heard it was supposed to be somebody else in the video." Ross and Rocky said that they had heard a name too.

The group, which included host Zach Sang, went on to share the respective names that they had each heard at the same time. Ross teased that he had heard it was Jacob - best known for his role on HBO's Euphoria - whilst Rocky, who said he couldn't recall the name, said: "The Euphoria guy."

Dan and Zach however suggested that they had heard that it was supposed to be content creator Vinnie Hacker, 21, in the video. Dan said: "So that's who I thought it was the entire time and then the video just came out and it was you."

Clarifying what his guests had heard, Zach asked them on the episode of his radio show: "Wait, you guys heard Jacob Elordi?" Responding to him, Ross - who rose to fame on the Disney Channel - said: "Yeah, I don't know how."

And asked if he expected the video to become "big," he shared: "Yeah, I felt like it was gonna be a moment. I didn't think people were gonna dress up as us for Halloween, but [...] it was a juicy concept for sure and I liked the song."

Troye previously spoke to People magazine about casting Ross in the music video. He told the outlet last year: "The song is written so adoringly about these guys that everyone is obsessed with - and everyone's obsessed with Ross."
