Coronation Street fans 'work out' Linda twist and tell Chesney to 'watch out'

Coronation Street fans think they've rumbled a Linda Hancock twist as she made an explosive return on Monday night.

Linda, the grandmother of Joseph Brown, made her arrival known as Joseph's stepmother Gemma Winter, Chesney Brown and the kids larked around at home.

It wasn't long until Linda was horrified to learn about Joseph's recent health problems and the fact Gemma is currently being investigated by social services after a possible poisoning incident, leaving Gemma currently unable to live at home and be around the children alone.

Linda was quick to ask what Chesney wanted, even offering to pay his legal fees should he want to go for custody of the children and his quads with Gemma. Chesney was taken aback at Linda's suggestion, insisting he would never take the children away from his wife.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Chesney better watch out because I wouldn't be surprised if Linda tries to get custody of Joseph. #Corrie", a different account put: "Linda suggesting to Chesney that he apply for sole custody of the kids! Seriously Linda?! #Corrie" while another added: "Linda is such a troublemaker…#Corrie!"

In upcoming scenes, Joseph, who has been complaining of a headache and sickness recently, is set to get a shock diagnosis. Initially, Gemma was concerned for her stepson, but after a dash to A&E she was accused of wasting the staff's time.

After days of concern from Gemma, while Joseph did insist he wasn't well, Chesney slammed his partner after it was suggested by doctors that Gemma might be experiencing anxiety, after her brother Paul's motor neurone disease diagnosis.

But there was further heartache when Gemma was accused of poisoning Joseph with lavender oil while he was unwell, with fears she was a risk to her children amid her odd behaviour.

Despite Gemma knowing something wasn't right with Joseph, it seemed as though she was the issue and she was told she had to move out of the family home, or the children could be taken into care.

Yet later this week, it's finally revealed what is wrong with Joseph, and Gemma's fears are finally confirmed. When Joseph once again complains of sickness, he suddenly collapses on the sofa as his legs give way. He's barely conscious, leading to another hospital dash and soon a diagnosis is revealed.

The doctor approaches and explains that after talking to Dr Gaddas, they suspect Joseph has Lyme disease which he contracted whilst camping. The NHS website defines Lyme disease as: "A bacterial infection that can be spread to humans by infected ticks."

At last, Gemma's concern is revealed to have been necessary, as Chesney realises his son has been sick the entire time. In a heartbreaking twist, the family comes to terms with Joseph's ill health only for him to make a devastating admission.

As Gemma tells Chesney and Joseph that social services have confirmed she can move back home, Joseph announces that he wants to live with Gemma and not him because she’s the only one who believes he is ill.
