Harrison Ford cringes at Critics' Choice host Chelsea Handler fancying 'old men'

Chelsea made an opening monologue at the Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday

Harrison Ford could be seen cringing at a comment that Chelsea Handler made last night at the Critics' Choice Awards, with the actor looking bemused as the famous comic swooned over him and another Hollywood star.

American comedian Chelsea, 48, left Harrison Ford and fellow famed actor Robert De Niro looking rather taken aback when she made her opening monologue at the awards on Sunday.

Chelsea joked that she had a penchant for men who had "been alive since the railway was invented", with her even name-dropping the two iconic actors when she gushed over how she prefers her men "old".

After saying that she preferred her men "old", she revealed that she was "looking" right at "Robert Deniro and Harrison". She said: "I don't know which one of you is more of a smokeshow, but you both have been so hot for decades and just keep getting hotter.

"It's enough already. I know you're both spoken for, so I'm not hitting on you. But I am hitting on you," she swooned. She also spoke of the way in which she felt about Harrison, before adding how he made her feel like a "flustered Barbie".

Viewers watching the awards ceremony at home were quick to react to the awkward moment when one person took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to pen: "Robert De Niro and Harrison Ford look like they would rather be anywhere but there."

Someone else noted: "Robert De Niro was having NONE of Chelsea Handler's monologue, but Harrison loved it." A third person then added: "The way Harrison Ford cringed when Chelsea Handler said she has the hots for him — YIKES!"

A fourth person then added: "Harrison Ford Is NOT amused by Chelsea Handler," while a fifth person wrote: "Chelsea Handler messing with Harrison Ford again and he looks p*ssed." Before another viewer chimed in: "'It was SOOOOO uncomfy!!!!! Glad I’m not the only one who noticed!!"

This comes as Harrison was honoured with an award for his career and achievements. Accepting the gong, he said: "First of all, I'm really happy to be here tonight to see what our business is turning into, and all of the talented people who are getting opportunities that probably wouldn't have existed in the early part of my career.

"I'm here because of a combination of luck and the work of wonderful writers, directors, and filmmakers. I feel enormously lucky. I'm happy for this honor, and I appreciate it very much."

He then went on to thank his wife Calista Flockhart, saying: "I want to thank my lovely wife, Calista Flockhart, who supports me when I need a lot of support. And I need a lot of support."
