Dancing on Ice's Ryan Thomas warned 'it'll be a nightmare' by ex Strictly star
Ryan Thomas has shared the advice his brother Adam has given him on dealing with the Dancing on Ice judges.
Coronation Street star Ryan, who is paired with professional skater Amani Fancy, watched on as his brother took to the dance floor on Strictly Come Dancing last year and now the former Emmerdale actor has shared his advice on taking part in a dance competition. Ryan revealed: "He says it's going to be a nightmare!
"I mean, listen, he’s shown me hard work pays off and you come out of the other side stronger and more positive about yourself. As one brother finishes another has to start!" Adam became the sixth celebrity to be eliminated last year and was partnered with professional Luba Mushtuk.
Ryan has called on his close friends and former soap co-stars for advice as he prepares to take to the ice for the first time on TV this Sunday. He said: "I know loads of people who have done the show before. I've been to see Kimberly Wyatt do it - she's a good friend of mine."

For her to do it, the first time she's probably stepped outside of Corrie, was a big thing for her. I was really proud of her doing it. Brooke Vincent's done it. Obviously my best friend Chris Fountain set the bar high. I don't know if I'm being biased, but I think he's the best I've ever seen on the show. I’ve actually been going on the ice with Chris!

"We’ve just had a bit of fun together and just see if he can guide me and help me in any way. He's been at my house in the living room holding my hand doing dance routines, then my partner walks in and she says, 'What the hell are you both doing?' I'm getting some backstage tips from the man himself! He’s my secret weapon!"
The actor explained he has some previous experience on the ice and can do the a "little bit of the basics" and his fellow Dancing on Ice co-stars have predicted he'll go far. Olympian Greg Rutherford described Ryan as a "good skater" while Claire Sweeney teased: "Ryan was skating backwards on the first day and stopping."
Ryan will be going up against soap icon Claire, Olympian Greg, comedian Lou Sanders, Radio DJ Adele Roberts, Emmerdale's Roxy Shahidi and Coronation Street's Ryan Thomas on the ice. Former boxer Ricky Hatton, S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt, Love Island's Amber Davies and former EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood will also take to the ice while Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards stepped in after Gogglebox's Stephen Lustig-Webb dropped out due to injury.
