If you've ever had a dress disaster after online shopping before a big event or your birthday, where something doesn't look like you thought it would when it arrives, you'll be able to relate to one woman's pain.

Online shopper Courtney Henderson didn't know whether to laugh or cry after she posted a picture which hilariously showed off the dress fail. The outfit, a brand new emerald green dress from online retailer Dressmezee, was supposed to be worn on her birthday night out.

Whilst the website showed a figure-hugging shape with cut-outs at the side, Courtney, from Newcastle, realised it wasn't exactly what she expected. After trying the dress on she discovered that it left her completely exposed from the waist up.

The Saleswoman, who works at EE, shared photos on social media of the model in the dress alongside her X-rated results which she censored after trying on the 'Ex-Lovers Glitter Dress'. The image, posted by Courtney, shows that the dress had an odd cut placement, leaving her breasts hanging out on either side. In the hilarious image, she has censored her breasts with pink squiggles.

When the post was originally published in 2020, it amassed more than 31,000 likes and 3,000 retweets and was captioned: "Dressmezee sorted me right out with this little belta, fits like a dream." Adding a note on the photo of herself, Courtney praised the 'brilliant fit' of the dress, which she joked was definitely worth keeping and £65 well spent.

The post and the dress had people in 'stitches,' with one person commenting: "I just spat coffee out everywhere. I am in f***ing stitches." Another said: "Don't buy clothes online - a lesson."

A third commented: "Courtney hahahaha I’m creasing," to which she replied: "Some heels on and I'm ready to go."

Courtney said: "To be completely honest, there's not that much to say about it. Apart from ordering a dress which clearly is made for the smaller-breasted in society, which most dresses are these days."

At the time, Dressmezee said: "Our Ex Lovers dress has continuously been one of our best sellers since being added to the website last year. If you check out our tagged images on Instagram you will see we have had many customers who have worn the dress and have been super happy with it.

"We can only apologise that the dress was not suitable for the customer, we do offer a size chart so we can ensure we are as accurate as we can possibly be. Our website clearly states that we have a very fair 14-day return policy, as with the various shapes and sizes of our customer’s bodies it is unlikely that every garment will fit every individual.

"Of course not all poor fittings generate as much publicity as Courtney's, so as a gesture of goodwill and thanks for all the extra publicity, in addition to her refund we're happy to offer 25 per cent off her next purchase."
