Hannah Spearritt has appeared to rule out any S Club 7 songs for her Dancing On Ice performances.

The singer, 42, is partnered with professional Andy Buchanan for the ITV1 show which is due to return this Sunday. Ahead of her debut on the popular show, Hannah said that she has no plans of yet to perform to an S Club 7 song. It comes after she pulled out of the band's reunion tour last year following the death of her former partner and bandmate, Paul Cattermole.

The Reach hitmaker opened up about her "health journey" as she remains in recovery from an autoimmune condition. Hannah said this was the main reason for her joining the ITV show. “There was just a few things that really made sense that made me want to do it and take on the challenge and it’s been such an eye opener in terms of like, entering the world of an ice skater… they obviously are amazing at what they deliver and it’s been an incredible journey to kind of go out of your comfort zone," she shared.

When asked whether she intends on performing to an S Club 7 track, Hannah said: “No, we won’t be using S Club music…. nothing planned.” It comes after Hannah emotionally said S Club 7 will "never ever be the same again" following Paul's death and amid a reported "feud" with bandmate Rachel Stevens.

The singer appeared on Thursday's Loose Women to talk about Dancing On Ice, where she is one of the celebrities taking to the ice this January on the hit ITV series. However, chat soon turned to S Club 7 and Hannah's decision to pull out of the reunion tour last year following the death of bandmate Paul, who was tragically found dead at his home in Dorset on April 6 aged 46.

Loose Women panellist Nadia Sawalha said: "You were going to do the reunion last year weren't you with S Club 7 but made the decision, which is absolutely right for you, to pull out of it," to which Hannah replied: "Yeah, I think S Club 7 unfortunately will never ever be the same again. It just, unfortunately, wasn't the right time for me to continue."

Nadia, 59, then asked: "So is doing Dancing On Ice a part of that - to sort of get well physically, mentally?" Hannah, who last year opened up about her struggles with an autoimmune disease, responded: "Yeah, I mean I didn't know that obviously I was going to be doing it at that time.

"My health sort of, yeah, it was struggling a little bit with different symptoms, I went to see this doctor, who actually put me on this sort of like new treatment. I won't go into the details as it's really scientific. The symptoms [of autoimmune disease] had ramped up, I went to see him and the treatment was working really well.

"But then, obviously, my body was ready for exercise and I was like: 'Okay, what can we do?' Dancing On Ice just felt like the right thing." Hannah said so far Dancing On Ice training has been great for her anxiety, admitting: "It's been great for anxiety because you have to focus. I can't be thinking about my phone or anything."

It comes after Hannah had a blunt response to a question about Rachel amid a reported "feud" between the pair earlier in the day on ITV show Lorraine. Hannah has been partnered with Andy Buchanan on Dancing On Ice. However, comedian Lou Sanders has been paired up with professional skater Brendyn Hatfield, who is dating Hannah's ex-bandmate Rachel.

Brendyn and Rachel got together in 2022 when they were on the show together, but were eliminated in just the third week. During an appearance on Lorraine, Hannah was asked whether she had got some tips from her former bandmate ahead of the new series. There was a moment of pause before Hannah replied: "I'm just focusing on me. I know that sounds so selfish."

The Mirror has contacted both Hannah and Rachel's representatives for comment.
