Emmerdale fans hit out at 'boring' storyline - as they brand it 'pathetic'

Viewers of Emmerdale have launched a social media attack on the latest affair storyline between Tracy and Caleb, as they claim it's 'pathetic' and 'boring'.

Tracy has embarked on a secret relationship with villain Caleb Miligan, behind the back of her new husband Nate. And while viewers have now seen in tonight's episode, that Tracy had a wobble over her deceptive behaviour after nearly being caught out, it seems as though the entire storyline is proving too much for fans to digest.

They now feel it is entirely boring. Taking to Twitter, which is now known as X, fans did not hold back as they made their feelings known.

One person took to the social media platform and wrote: "#emmerdale Who rights this sh**! Pathetic story line this love affair crap, I'm bored. @itv millennial scriptwriters again." Another person said: "Same ole b***rd storylines!" Meanwhile a third person added: "So bored of Tracy and Caleb she acts so childish."

And a fourth fan commented: "This affair thing is so boring now! It's the same every episode." But it didn't stop there. On the back of tonight's episode (January 11) another person took to Twitter and wrote: "Tracey getting on my nerves now it's going to end in tears." Despite Tracy being in a new marriage, Caleb is also married. And earlier this month, it was revealed that his wife Ruby was set to create a storm.

Ruby is the mother of Nicky Miligan and is a "fiery, confident, unpredictable and a fiercely devoted mum". It was teased at the time: "If Ruby believes Caleb, played by Will Ash, has finally found a family of his own away from her, it's fair to say she’d happily destroy it rather than allow Caleb to be happy without her. Ruby’s a force to be reckoned with and a ticking time bomb."

Speaking of Ruby's arrival, producer Kate Brooks said: "Ruby is an absolute force of nature who sweeps through the village with scores to settle. Fiercely loyal to her family, Ruby will do anything and everything to protect her loved ones. Her relationship with Caleb is infused with intense passion that manifests itself as the ultimate volatile relationship. Ruby is a character who pulls no punches and always makes an impression. We're delighted to welcome Beth to the show and we're sure she'll make a wonderful addition to the village."

And Laura Shaw, who plays Lydia Dingle also spoke of the upcoming delights this year. In an interview last year she said: "Laura Shaw recently told us: "Heading into the new year, we’re going to be introducing more exciting new characters – they’ll all be revealed nearer the time. We’ll be seeing a well-known face returning. We’ve got tragedy striking one family in the new year. We’ve got one or two of our villagers getting into very serious trouble, at least one of which may end up with them being sent to prison, but we’ll see!"
