Strictly's Neil says he 'never really discussed kids' with his ex Katya

Strictly Come Dancing's Neil Jones has said that he "never really discussed children" with his ex Katya Jones but "got into that conversation" just months into dating Chyna Mills.

The professional dancer, 41, was in a relationship with Katya, 34, for more than a decade. The pair, who got married in 2013, announced their separation in 2019 and said they'd "always love each other, just in a different way as friends".

Neil has since begun a relationship with former Love Island star Chyna, 25. The couple, who were first romantically linked in 2022, got engaged last year and their daughter Havana, now three months old, was born in October.

Neil spoke about both relationships in an interview with the MailOnline recently, whilst promoting a collaboration with Burns Pet Nutrition. He suggested that he hadn't "really discussed" having children with Katya during their romance.

He commented: "No we never really discussed children." Neil - who, just like Katya, joined the cast of the BBC dance show back in 2016 - suggested to the outlet that the former couple were "busy" with dancing and their careers.

It was stated that he had conversations about becoming a parent with Chyna early into their relationship though. The choreographer did however tease in the interview that both he and Chyna didn't think that it would "happen so quick".

Discussing their relationship, Neil said: "I have got so many nieces and nephews, and then when I met Chyna we clicked so well." He added: "And it's so funny that three months down the line that we both got into that conversation about having a child and we said 'yeah, let's try for it'."

He further told the outlet that they "never thought it would happen so quick". Neil added that both he and Chyna - who appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2022 - were both "over the moon" with the news last year.

The couple announced they were expecting a baby together and their engagement in April last year. Neil teased at the time that "excitement is an understatement," whilst Chyna commented: "I feel like I'm dreaming."

Neil later wrote on Instagram: "It's been a whole month since [Chyna] said yes, well actually she laughed at first but then cried. I can't tell you how much we laugh together and I'm so excited to start our family together as long as the baby gets her mum's looks but my moves."

The couple announced the birth of their daughter six months later, writing on the platform: "Our hearts are so full." It's been suggested that their daughter Havana has been named after the capital city of Cuba, which Neil described as "the home of dance and very multicultural".
