Liverpool poised for eight-figure transfer bonus thanks to Michael Edwards deal
Liverpool will receive millions of pounds if Bournemouth sell Dominic Solanke this month, with Newcastle pursuing the striker's signature.
Solanke, 26, is enjoying a memorable season with the Cherries. The English striker has scored 12 goals in 19 Premier League games, with only Erling Haaland of Manchester City and Mohamed Salah of Liverpool (14 each) finding the net more often this term.
Solanke's form has helped Bournemouth shoot up to 12th in the Premier League table and quash any fears of relegation. The U20 World Cup winner's form is exactly why Bournemouth signed him from Liverpool for an initial £19million in January 2019.
Liverpool's former sporting director Michael Edwards, who was responsible for signing the likes of Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho during his time in charge of the club's transfer policy, sanction Solanke's sale to the Cherries. Edwards left his role in May 2022.
According to the Liverpool ECHO, Edwards included various add-ons in the transfer and the Reds have received £24m to date for Solanke. He also included a 20 per cent sell-on clause, which means Liverpool could receive even more cash for the player.

As reported by The Telegraph, Newcastle have contacted Bournemouth about Solanke's availability this month. Toon boss Eddie Howe was in charge of the Cherries when they signed the striker five years ago and remains a huge fan of his ability.
Bournemouth have told Newcastle Solanke is NOT for sale this month, as they are under no pressure to sell. The 12-goal star has another three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract after signing an extension just four months ago.

But Bournemouth could decide to cash in on Solanke's prolific season in the summer. As reported by the Daily Star, Bournemouth value him at £50m. If Solanke is sold at that price, Liverpool will receive £10m and the Cherries will make an overall profit of £16m.
Yet there's a good chance Bournemouth will increase Solanke's price tag if his prolific form continues. Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who scored 20 Premier League goals last season, is valued at £100m. Arsenal and Chelsea are both interested the 27-year-old.
Toney is a year older than Solanke and has entered the final 18 months of his contract. Bournemouth could drive up Solanke's price tag if Toney is sold for £100m, either this month or in the summer. They will be aware of the market rate for a prolific striker.
Solanke's form is impressive, as he scored just eight goals in his first 75 Premier League appearances for the Cherries. "What he (Solanke) is doing right now is brilliant," Arsenal legend Thierry Henry told Amazon Prime last month. "Not only him, but I'm happy for him because he did struggle for a little bit. Now he's looking good."
