Mel Gibson was spotted with his foot in a medical boot and a walking stick as he went for dinner with his daughter.

Mel and his daughter Lucia, who he shares with ex Oksana Grigorieva, went for a meal in Malibu, with the actor pictured wearing a pair of grey trousers, a plaid shirt and a navy jacket.

The Hollywood actor, who celebrated his 68th birthday earlier this week walked using the stick for support as he wore socks and sandals on his other foot. His injury is believed to be from filming.

His injury comes just one month after he was seen with his arm in a sling, sparking rumours that he was in the midst of filming and directing Lethal Weapon 5. Starring in the film comes after he missed out on the success of the Chicken Run sequel, as it was revealed four years ago that he wouldn't be returning as an original member of the cast.

Mel was reportedly axed from his reprising role as the voice of Rocky in the sequel of the 20-year-old animated classic movie after Winona Ryder accused him of making antisemitic remarks to her, according to film sources who told The Wrap.

Winona opened up on the alleged comments in a 2010 interview with GQ, saying Mel asked her if she was a Jewish "oven-dodger" at a party they both attended in 1995. Mel fiercely denied the claims about alleged antisemitic remarks.

A statement to Variety from Gibson's rep read: "This is 100% untrue. She lied about it over a decade ago, when she talked to the press, and she's lying about it now."

Stranger Things star Winona recalled the moment at the party when Mel is said to have made the comments, telling the Sunday Times and the NY Post : "We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends, and Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar."

The actress alleged that the topic of the Jewish faith came up, and she claims that Mel asked her: "You're not an oven-dodger, are you?" The term "oven dodger" is said to be a reference to the way Jewish prisoners were incinerated in Nazi death camps.

But this wasn't the only inappropriate comment the actor allegedly made on the same night, as the Beetlejuice actress said he then asked her gay friend: "Oh, wait, am I gonna get AIDS?"

Winona also claimed that he later tried to apologise for his alleged offensive behaviour.
