A closer look inside Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez's ongoing public feud

As Kylie Jenner seemed to brutally snub Selena Gomez at the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards we're taking a closer look at the famous pairs ongoing feud.

At the prestigious award show on Sunday evening it seemed that Selena was feeling frustrated as she angrily vented to her besties Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry about the hurtful interaction she had with the famous Kardashian. Expert lip reader Jeremy Freeman broke down the chat for The Mirror revealing that it seemed Kylie refused to let Selena take a picture with her boyfriend actor Timotheé Chalamet during the red carpet event.

It appears that Selena said to Taylor: "I asked for a picture with him and she [Kylie] said no." To which Keleigh then mouthed: "With Timothée?" to which Selena nodded. Jeremy then suggested that Selena said: "Do you know what they said/did to me?" before Taylor eyes widened as she replied: "S**t, what the..." The Anti-Hero singer later added: "Oh my God, love you," and Selena replied: "Brought them back together."

After the tense moment fans took to social media sharing their thoughts on the Selena and Kylie drama. One fan wrote: "It might be true, I'd do the same to my man lmao." Another wrote: "The heavy nod Selena did after lmaooo I just know she was ready for the mess she was about to start." And a third added: "Taylor's friend is messy as hell for yelling Timothee's name so loud like that. anyway the discourse around this is already weird. why am i seeing people saying she's ' too old for this' etc. ? if a former friend declined a photo with you literally any woman's first move would be to tell her best friends about it, it's really not that deep."

The interaction comes as Selena and Kylie have shared a heated feud for months that began back in March of 2023. The drama first began when Kylie and her bestie Hailey Bieber were accused of mocking Selena on social media for her looks. At the time the actress had shared a TikTok video of herself joking telling her fans that she had "accidentally laminated her brows too much."

Three hours after the post Kylie took to her Instagram story with her friend Hailey Bieber, who is married to Selena's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, taking a close-up snap of their laminated eyebrows. Many fans believed that the pair were "mocking" the Only Murders in The Building star with the post.

The drama continued as Selena was later seen commenting and liking TikToks that called Kylie and Hailey "mean girls." This led Selena's loyal fanbase to go wild aggressively bullying Kylie and Hailey on social media with hurtful comments with calls for everyone to unfollow the Rhode founder. The wave of late led to Hailey losing nearly one million Instagram followers since the beginning of the apparent feud.

But Kylie later broke her silence on the rumours dismissing the claims that she disliked Selena. On one viral TikTok discussing the feud the reality star commented: "This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts. You guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly." Selena later agreed and commented: "It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie's."

Kylie's apparent refusal to let Selena take a photo with her boyfriend Timotheé comes as the pair have shared a close friendship in the industry over the years. The pair first became friends when they starred in the Woody Allen movie A Rainy Day in New York back in 2019.

In the classic rom-com Timotheé and Selena shared a passionate on-screen kiss in the rain but the pair have seemed to remain purely platonic off-screen. The two remained friends and even came together two years after the movie's release as they took to Instagram live together to encourage their fanbases to vote in the 2020 Presidential election. But now it seems the pair have grown distant in recent years as Timotheé and Kylie have ignited their new relationship together.
