With cold weather and snow forecast for later in the week, January is the perfect time to pick up a cheap week in the sun.

Portugal

Winters on The Algarve are usually mild and sunny, making them particularly pleasant for golfers. With very little rainfall, uncrowded beaches and resorts and cut-price deals at upscale Portuguese hotels, January is a great time for a trip to Portugal.

Egypt
