A flight attendant has revealed how an entitled passenger in first class threw a tantrum because she couldn’t get any service due to the turbulence, and then proceeded to make her colleague cry.

Sharing her experience of working with awful people, Destanie told her followers on TikTok: “Our captain informs us that our flight is gonna be turbulent for the first 30 minutes of the flight and we need to remain seated until it’s safe for us to get up.”

Destanie said that while seated, she noticed a female passenger staring at her. Acknowledging her with a smile and nod, she realised that the woman was still glaring at her and wouldn’t look away.

She went on: “This woman then asks ‘tell me why I haven’t been served yet?’.” Ever the professional, Destanie explained the situation and that they had to stay seated but the customer wasn’t having it and continued to demand service.

“This is the smoothest flight I’ve ever felt,” the woman reportedly shot back, to which Destanie explained that turbulence could happen at any time, even if the flight appeared calm.

Unconvinced, she claims the woman continued to argue that there was no reason to delay her service as things like turbulence could happen at any time during the flight. The flight attendant said the woman finally conceded after being reminded of the safety risk but called adherence to the rules “bizarre.”

Destanie then said that once normal service resumed, the entitled passenger actually caused a member of the crew to burst into tears as they didn’t have any chardonnay.

Fellow flight attendants in the comments also began sharing their horror stories about rude customers. One person wrote: “Had to stop service for a medical emergency the other day and then got screamed at for not getting this lady her coke during it.” Someone else added: “I got yelled at for adjusting someone's bag to make room for another.”

And another flight attendant penned: “In the past six months, I’ve been on two flights where people thought it was ok to paint their nails?! Never seen that before. They are in their own world. And they look at you like you’re the dumb one!”
