Angelina Jolie’s brother 'protective' over her and kids amid Brad Pitt divorce
Angelina Jolie’s brother James Haven has admitted he felt protective over her and her children amid her divorce from Brad Pitt.
Talking to Jessica Entner on her 90Who10 podcast the actor revealed how he changed his own life in order to be there to support his sister at her time of need. James, 52, claimed that as he saw her personal life “unfolded in the public eye,” he knew he had to help Angelina, 48.
He explained: “That’s where it all started, it started with the protection of her and her children - my nieces and nephews. I set my life up so I can be present with whatever the situation. I want to be there for them or for her - whatever she’s going through.”

He continued: “They’re becoming young adults early 20s. I think it’s just very natural and I just want to be there any time. Anytime I’m blessed to be in their presence, I want to be in their presence."

Angelina and Brad, 60, are parents to Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15. They were together for 12 years before announcing their divorce in 2016 just two years after their 2014 wedding.
After they broke up reports surfaced of an explosive exchange between the pair on a private jet with their children in 2016. Angelina filed a complaint against Brad in October 2022 where so provided claims about his behaviour. The documents were filed as part of their legal battle over a winery they previously owned together.

The New York Times quoted the documents as stating that "Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face" and "grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her".
It reportedly also claimed he had poured beer on Angelina and both beer and red wine on the children. Angelina filed for divorce just days after the alleged incident. Brad later spoke out to admit that he had raised his voice at the children, but he denied any physical harm.
Sources close to the actor told The Post: “Brad may have been drinking, and admits that he yelled at his son, but he insists he did not hit him or attempt to harm him. It was a confrontation that got out of hand." Custody for the children is still yet to be resolved, but Brad and Angelina were officially announced as single in 2019.
