BBC Radio presenter Jason Rosam announced his departure from the corporation after 16 years on air.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Jason shared the news along with a few snaps of himself in the studio over the years. He said on Thursday: "What an adventure! It's been an extraordinary 16-year ride at the BBC filled with stories, moments, and experiences that have shaped me in profound ways.

"My final Early Breakfast show is tomorrow at 5am. It's not goodbye but a 'see you later.'" Fellow colleagues and listeners rushed to the comment section to say goodbye as they shared their memories of being on the show. One person said: "Sorry to see you go. Always enjoyed and appreciated our early morning chats!"

"Good luck Jason! You’ll be a massive loss but enjoy your last show and whatever comes next, you will fly!" broadcaster James Hanson said.

One fan commented: "Wishing you all the best for the future fella. Extraordinary to think that the capital will no longer have its own dedicated early morning show as it wakes up with its own distinct needs. Sigh. Best of luck with your new ventures..." Another posted: "Jason, I listen to you every morning on my way to my own early presenting shift - I will really miss your show. Good luck on the next chapter, I hope you have something nice planned?"

Jason hosted BBC Radio London's Early Breakfast show. He brought listeners up to date with the latest news from 5am onwards. However, he has broadcasted his final show. It comes after Alex Hall announced her departure from Radio Tees after a remarkable 35 years.

The 74-year-old shared the news on social media, much to the dismay of her loyal listeners. In a short but poignant post, Alex wrote: "This morning I did my last show on BBC local radio. My regular programme ended in November, but I was asked to do some cover, which I was happy to do. Delaying the inevitable.

"Today I have to concede defeat. 35 years in local and regional radio and it's over. Wow." Her followers were shocked by the news, with one listener expressing their outrage: "What's happening to BBC Local Radio is outrageous," they wrote. "Those in charge should be ashamed. All the very best to you Alex, thank you for your great service."

Another fan praised her, saying: "One of the greats Alex. Standing in for you on The Late Show all those years ago was a privilege because of the family of listeners you'd built. That's such a skill. Big love x." While a third added: "A huge loss, Alex. You're a fantastic broadcaster. I'm really sorry."
