Luke Littler's romance with girlfriend 'not serious' - but her mum has big plans

The mum of darts sensation Luke Littler’s girlfriend has said their age gap romance is "not serious" yet – but could be further down the line.

Luke 'the Nuke', 16, is now a household name after becoming the youngest ever player to reach the World Darts Championship finals. Sadly it wasn't to be for the teen who lost out to Luke Humphries in front of a sell out crowd at London’s Alexandra Palace on Wednesday night.

At his side throughout the competition was new girlfriend Eloise Milburn, a darts mad 21-year-old from Surrey that Warrington lad Luke is said to have met playing FIFA on his Xbox just six weeks ago.

But although their relationship is new – and Eloise’s parents Amanda and Phil haven’t even met Luke yet, though they have spoken to him on the phone – both Luke and Eloise’s lives are about to change drastically now he has hit the big time.

Amanda said her and husband Phil are not invited to tonight’s final because Eloise has made it clear “she doesn’t want us going because she thinks things are still at an early stage between her and Luke”.

She told the Daily Mail : “They’re in a growing relationship, not a very serious one – although that might come later. I asked her for tickets because me and Phil would love to see Luke in action, but Eloise just says, ‘Mum, please, I don’t want you meeting him just yet, it’s too soon.’ I’ve never been to the World Darts Championship and you would have thought that I’d be able to get a ticket now my daughter is dating Luke, but sadly that’s not the case.”

While Luke and Eloise’s romance may be new, mum Amanda has high hopes for the future and added: “We are a darts family, we love playing this sport and are all very dedicated to it. It’s quite ironic that I met my husband through darts and Eloise might have met hers in the same way. It’s still early days for them and she’ll kill me if I bring up talk of marriage.”

Like the rest of her family, Eloise is darts mad and an amateur player for Walton Working Men's Club, while also representing the Surrey Women's darts side. Currently down in London, Eloise and Luke have been able to spend some time together at the World Darts Championships, but in reality there is quite a distance between them as Luke lives in Warrington, Cheshire, while Eloise lives with her parents in Hersham, Surrey over 200 miles away.

Eloise’s mum says since her daughter has started dating Luke, who turns 17 later this month on January 21, she has faced cruel jibes over the five-year age gap and claims she is a “money grabber” from online trolls.

Claiming “Eloise has been accused of all sorts”, mum Amanda denied her daughter was only with Luke for his money and fame and branded the comments a “total pack of disgusting lies”.

She added: “There’s been a lot of horrible stuff being posted online about my daughter and my husband Phil and I are very angry about it. She’s not with him for any of these reasons. She doesn’t care about his money or his fame, she’s with him because she likes him. It’s as simple as that. It’s really hurtful when we read these comments, many of them from so-called darts fans. My daughter is none of these things that these vile people are making out. She’s a lovely young girl who is in a new relationship and people should allow them to get on with things.”
