The BBC has confirmed the return of a much-loved TV series.

Michael McIntyre's Big Show, known for its star-studded line-up, will be back on our screens in less than two weeks. It will return to air on January 13 and be fronted by the comedian. Michael McIntyre's Big Show features BAFTA award-winning presenter and comedian, Michael McIntyre, chatting with various celebs about their lives in front of a live audience.

Fans can look forward to favourite segments like Send to All and Celebrity Midnight Gameshow making a comeback. Originally a one-off Christmas special, the show ran for five series from 2016 to 2019. It also aired for six episodes in January 2023, but it was unclear if this marked a permanent return.

The latest series saw celebs like Alison Hammond, Rylan Clark and Jonathan Ross hand over their phones to Michael, leading to lots of laughs. Talking about the show, Michael said: "There isn't a day that goes by without someone telling me how much they love this show, although strangely nobody seems to know what it's called. It's either 'The one where you take people's phones', 'The one where you wake people up in the night', 'The one where the wall falls down' or 'The Big Night In'."

The telly's funny man said: "Well, I'm thrilled to announce that all four of those shows are set to return for a seventh series!" BBC's boss of fun, Kalpna Patel-Knight, was super excited too. They said: "We are thrilled to have Michael McIntyre's Big Show back on BBC One and iPlayer, it's a show full of joy with laugh-out-loud moments and surprises on unexpecting celebrities."

"I cannot wait to see who Michael with his comedic brilliance will be waking up this series and whose phone he will peek into. It really is unmissable on a Saturday night." Last year Michael entertained viewers on the show as he went through Rylan's phone to send a funny text message, but he found more than he bargained for.

Michael stumbled across Rylan's online dating profile, to the presenter's horror. While he sat in the audience, Rylan said: "Do you know, I have removed something but I’ve just seen something I’ve forgotten to remove.” "Oh is it Hinge the dating app?" Michael grinned.

Michael, 47, has been making folks chuckle all over the globe for 15 years. He even snagged the title of the world's top-earning stand-up comic in 2012.

After cracking jokes on the local comedy scene in his late twenties, Michael shot to fame big time when he showed up on Live at the Apollo on BBC One in 2007, 2008, and 2009. He also hosts the BBC gameshow The Wheel, which sees a bunch of celebrities tested on their general knowledge in a bid to help three lucky contestants win huge cash prizes.
