Kelly Clarkson helped two of her fans get married

Kelly Clarkson bid 2023 farewell with an epic moment as she helped a lovestruck couple get married during her live show.

Kelly, 41, took to the stage in Las Vegas for New Year's Eve for her Chemistry: An Intimate Night With Kelly Clarkson residency in Sin City. A video of a segment of the show uploaded to YouTube saw Kelly talking to a couple in the audience who confessed to her that they were planning to get married at her show that very evening.

Stunned by the news Kelly asked: "Oh, it is tonight? With me?" as an officiate headed towards them. Meanwhile, one half of the couple explained to her how they had been together for almost 15 years. Members of the audience cheered and applauded as they listened to the story.

Kelly then passed the microphone to the officiant who began to quickly marry the delighted duo. Kelly excitedly wrapped her arm around one of the men as the nuptials continued before the officiant announced "By the power of Kelly Clarkson's show, Las Vegas New Year's 2024, I pronounce you both husband and husband!"

Kelly then hugged the officiant and the newlyweds as she posed for a photo with them, before being handed back the microphone and proceeding to seek out one of the freshly married couple's mothers who was in the audience. She said: "Where's your mama?" before quickly touching hands with a woman close by and asking her "What did your baby just do?"

Kelly then headed back towards the stage as she gushed about the special moment exclaiming "You guys, that was so wonderful!" Kelly announced her 10-night Vegas residency at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood with the original run of dates happening in July and August 2023.

The popularity of the show saw her add more dates to the run with New Year's Eve weekend and a weekend in February 2024. Kelly appeared in good form at the show after losing about 50lbs. She also continues to recover from her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The couple began dating back in 2012 getting engaged in the same year.

They then got hitched in 2013 in a luxurious ceremony in Tennessee. The former couple share two children - daughter River, nine, and son Remington, seven. Kelly filed for divorce in June 2020 citing irreconcilable differences.

Their divorce was officially finalised in March 2022. Kelly was then awarded $2.6 million from Brandon late in 2023 after he unlawfully procured deals when he was her manager during their marriage.
