Great British Bake Off's youngest-ever contestant pregnant with first baby
Great British Bake Off's youngest-ever contestant is expecting her first baby with husband Michael Haywood.
27-year-old Martha Collison rose to fame after appearing on Bake Off in 2014 when she was only 17 years old. She was a big favourite with then-judge Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood for showcasing her incredible baking skills at such a young age.
And now, the TV star took to social media to announce the exciting news on New Year's Day with a few snaps of her cradling her baby bump in front of a scenic view. "Christmas with our own little pudding, due to be ready in spring," she captioned the post and added 'Baby Baker' and 'Bun In The Oven' as the hashtags.
She posted the same photo on her Instagram Stories and said: "Beyond thankful for this little blessing - our family is growing." Fans and friends rushed to the comment section to congratulate her on the incredible news.

"You’re going to be the most wonderful Mum and sending so much love and hugs." MasterChef star Nisha Parmar said: "Oh my goodness!!! Martha!! That’s the best bun you’ve ever cooked!!! So happy for you both!! Congratulations," while Luke Catleugh posted: "Huge congratulations Martha. this is magical news."
Martha tied the knot to Michael in 2019 and the winner of her series, Nancy Birtwhistle, was among the many Bake Off guests at the ceremony. Other guests included Richard Burr, Chetna Makan, Claire Goodwin, Iain Watters, Enwezor Nzegwu, Diana Beard and Kate Henry.
The gorgeous wedding saw the former contestants bring cakes with them, such as a lemon cake, red velvet cake, chocolate cake and a lot more. Martha and her other half dated for three years before getting engaged in 2018.
The series Martha competed in saw many legendary Bake Off moments, such as when contestant Iain launched his Baked Alaska into the bin. It's been around a decade since Martha competed on the show and she now has a column in Waitrose Magazine and is a show chef at Virgin Radio UK.
Martha also published two books named Twist and Crave. Since appearing on Bake Off, she also appeared on the spin-off show, Extra Slice and presented for Saturday Kitchen. She was also a guest on Blue Peter.
