More and more people are taking on delivery jobs for companies like Deliveroo as a side-hustle to top up their salaries - and one woman has revealed how much she made in a few hours doing deliveries.
On Christmas Eve, savvy delivery driver Atlanta Martin, who posts on TikTok as @atlantadelivers, shared a video explaining how much she made on Christmas Eve when she made deliveries between 5.25pm and 10.10pm.
Atlanta delivers for multiiple food delivery companies including JustEat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo when she's on shift, and she did a breakdown of what she earned from each of them, looking slightly uncomfortable when she shared she'd received £0 in tips.
Atlanta shared that on Uber Eats, she made £28.65 that evening, and on Deliveroo she made £71.32. She made nothing in tips and drove a total of 65 miles. She worked out that in total, she made £99.97.
In the comments, some were shocked that nobody tipped her on Christmas Eve, with someone commenting: "No tips on Christmas Eve", followed by a crying emoji. They also asked: "I use Deliveroo for out takeouts and always add to the driver tip section...my question is can you see who has tipped and do you definitely get it? Should I do cash instead?" Someone else fumed: "Wow no tips, what's wrong with people? I always give a few £££ tip to driver."

A woman tried to justify the lack of tip by citing the delivery fee, commenting: "I think people do not tip no more as my delivery charge is between £3 and £6 so think to myself that includes the tip. A £10 takeaway comes to be £15 when you add the service charges."
Another asked: "After petrol and insurance plus wear and tear on the car. Is it really worth it?" but another pointed out that the earning potential is good if you worked a higher amount of hours each week. They said: "£19ph. That's pretty decent if you did 40 hours a week you'd make £42k a year."
A TikToker asked whether drivers are expected to pay for their own petrol out of their earnings when they're making deliveries, and Atlanta simply responded "Yes."
