Loose Women star Brenda Edwards revealed she was warned to 'never touch' one of her co-stars when she joined the panel.

Brenda, 54, joined the panel in 2019 and quickly became a fan favourite. The star has interviewed many famous over the years and admitted meeting will.i.am on the ITV show caused her to be 'starstruck'. Brenda said in a new interview: "That was absolutely amazing."

The singer was also starstruck when she met fellow co-star Janet Street-Porter. She continued: "I used to watch Loose Women before I became one, and I still do. I come from a family of strong women, including my grandma and my aunts, so Janet is a big icon in our household."

Speaking to Woman's Own, the panellist added: "Plus, I'm quite a feely person and on my first visit to Loose Women I was told, 'Do no touch Janet,' so I was pleasantly surprised when she gave me a hug."

In November 2023, Brenda said she 'won't be going anywhere' after rumours started swirling about her potentially leaving Loose Women. The star is multi-talented as she's a fashion designer with her own line, an actress, a singer who competed on X Factor, was an accounts manager for 20 years, and is also a director of a new theatre production.

She also runs a charity, has survived cancer, personal tragedy and domestic abuse, and entertains us with her warmth and insightful views as a Loose Women panellist. After the rumours of her quitting the show first came out, she adamantly said: “I’m not going anywhere.”

Brenda said she would juggle both roles and talked about her excitement to direct the glossy musical about a TV dance show in 1960s Baltimore which is rife with racism. “The story, unfortunately, is so poignant to today,” she said at the time. “We all do our other occupations so Loose Women isn’t going anywhere. Shut that rumour mill down!”

Brenda also enjoys the company of her co-stars – who include Janet Street-Porter, Judi Love and Coleen Nolan – despite some fans’ claims to the contrary. “I love all the Loose Women. There’s this myth that goes on that we all hate each other and we’re all fighting a war and that’s not true,” says Brenda.

“We are friends outside of the show. There are several of the ladies that I go for lunch with on a regular basis. I couldn’t tell you who my favourites are, I love them all in different ways.” Brenda shot to fame on the 2005 series of X Factor but admitted to falling into TV presenting, including hosting Songs of Praise, by accident.
