EastEnders’ Michelle Collins furiously slams troll while stranded in Spain
EastEnders star Michelle Collins has furiously hit back after fans accused her of 'using her fame' to get ahead in a row with easyJet.
The Cindy Beale actress, 61, flew out to Spain to celebrate the New Year and was hoping to enjoy a stress-free journey back home. However, the BBC star shared she had an eventful Monday evening pleading to easyJet HQ on social media to allow her on the plane after she lost her passport and also appealed to the police, who told her it was up to the airline to make a decision.
After an incredibly stressful evening, and after realising she was getting nowhere with the airport airline staff, Michelle took to X, formerly Twitter, to voice her annoyance on social media as she called out the airline. "Please easyJet can you help me I have lost my passport at Malaga airport the police (I have been there ) say it is up to the airline to let me fly home. My flight is at 8.30pm tonight I am heading to the airport having just left the police station. Thank you Michele x."
Michelle got nowhere and shortly after her first tweet, she took to X again to slam the airline. In an update, she wrote: "Nobody is very helpful @easyJet this is awful." After seeing the commotion Michelle had found herself in, some social media trolls used the opportunity to slam the star as they accused her of using her fame as a privilege.
The social media trolls misunderstood Michelle's tweet for assistance and pointed out easyJet couldn't let her on board "just because she's Cindy in EastEnders". "Who do you think you are? You need a passport to fly. Everyone does. You don't not need one just because you're in EastEnders."
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessIn response, a clearly very stressed Michelle hit back at the message, writing: "Oh please!!!!! Do you have to be horrible? I'm not an idiot just very stressed indeed happy new year to you."
Michelle has since updated her fans and thanked them for their concern. Unfortunately, the actress was unable to fly, but assured that she was safe and sound in Spain and was looking forward to getting back to the UK and back on the EastEnders set.
"Thank you most of you for your helpful comments , I wasn’t allowed to fly , went to embassy was closed applied for an emergency document online so let’s see what happens will go there when it opens in the morning . Supposed to be filming @bbceastenders but I'm alive and safe."
