Kimberley Cooper was once Australia's hottest soap star but has now put acting far behind her.

She played the role of Gypsy Nash in Home and Away in the early 2000s. The actress shot to fame thanks to her appearance in the soap but now leads a very different life away from the spotlight. Kimberley, now 43, has left Australia for Los Angeles and has worked numerous jobs.

In recent years Kimberley has been a writer for plays, television and film. Her last known film credit was in the 2015 thriller Natural Injustice where she played the leading role of Jessica Hunter. It is believed Kimberley's latest job has seen her work as a bartender in Hollywood.

Away from work, Kimberley recently became engaged to Bryan Crocker, an American businessman who owns a film and television distribution company. She took to her Instagram last month to share the exciting news with her followers and to flash her huge ruby ring.

Kimberley gushed: "Our first date was on 2.2 in his kitchen with drunken noodles, bacon-wrapped shrimp and dumplings from his favourite Thai place. He proposed on the 22nd with our favourite Thai food from that first date in our kitchen (really my kitchen now) where we fell in love. You are the personification of “worth the wait” my love xxx."

Speaking to New Idea magazine, Kimberley said she chose her ring with Bryan, 42, and explained: "I love that it's dramatic and kinda rock 'n' roll." Kimberley's romance with Bryan comes after she split from her ex-husband Nic Sacci following their marriage in 2010. She starred in Home and Away as Bad Girl Gypsy from 1990 to 2002 and made a small return in 2011.

She won a Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent on Australian television in 1999 for her performance in the soap. Kimberley has since reflected on her time in the series. She told The Courier-Mail: "I never look at Home and Away and cringe. Unapologetically it's good TV for the time that it is made in."

The actress moved into reality TV after she departed Home and Away. She competed on Australian Celebrity Big Brother in 2002 and later decided to relocate to New York City. Kimberley eventually moved to Los Angeles where she carried on working as an actress as well as a writer and voice-over artist.

In 2019, she paid tribute to her Home And Away co-star Ben Unwin. Taking to Instagram shortly after the news of his death broke, Kimberley wrote: "My first TV week cover was with you. We had years of laughter, be it giggles on set trying to get through scenes as lovers or doubled-over belly laughs at the pubs after work. I will be sad for now, but I promise to tell stories of great joy about our times together. You forever hold a special place in my heart. Love you Onion."
