Stacey Dooley reacts as mum 'likes post on complex mother-daughter dynamics'

Stacey Dooley has teased over her parent Diane Niblock apparently liking a post that references a "complex" potential relationship between mothers and daughters.

The presenter, 36, took to Instagram to share a photo of the post in question and told her followers on the platform that her own mother Diane had liked it. Stacey seemed to be amused, having shared laughing emojis in her post.

The original post, mentioned by Stacey on Sunday, had been shared by social media user Jamie Mangeris last month. It features a video of a car journey, accompanied by a caption about a possible dynamic between a mother and daughter.

The caption in the video reads: "The mother/daughter relationship is so complex ... sometimes it's 'aww look at my baby girl, such a beautiful princess' and sometimes it's 'sis who are you talking too? Cause we can square up right now'. Pray for us moms of girls.. we are NOT ok!"

A number of people suggested that they related to the post in the comments section, with one person having written: "I couldn't of said it better myself." Another reacted: "Nailed it." Whilst a third person commented: "Accurate." A fourth responded to the post last month: "I can totally relate."

The post has amassed more than 140,000 likes on the platform since it was uploaded last month. It's said to have been played more than 6 million times. Stacey's mother Diane doesn't currently appear to be among those who liked it.

Stacey however reported on Sunday that Diane had liked the post, with her having shared a photo that showed her mother's apparent username on the platform among its likes. Alongside emojis that depicted a laughing face, a melting face and a skull, Stacey wrote: "No, I'm done".

The presenter - who is understood to have been raised by single parent Diane - further commented in her post on the weekend: "Not my mum liking this." Stacey included a series of laughing emojis alongside that remark in her caption.

It comes after Stacey marked New Year's Eve with a post on the platform, in which she sent "good vibes" to her followers for the new year. The post included a video of her taking a stroll and was accompanied by a message to her fans.

She wrote in the caption: "HAPPY NEW YEARS GAAAAANG. Alllllllllllll the love. Sending EVERYONE good vibes and ALL the JOY." She added: "Ta so much to everyone on here who has been so kind over the year. Have the BEST best eve."
