Boris Johnson's wife shows off baby bump before quashing pregnancy speculation
Carrie Johnson signed off 2023 with a professional snap of her blossoming baby bump on Sunday - before shutting down speculation she is expecting another child with former Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
The mother-of-three took to Instagram on New Year's Eve to share a black and white shot taken in June - a matter of days before she welcomed son Frankie into the world. The shot, taken by motherhood photographer Romy Becker, captured 35-year old Carrie standing in an open robe gazing out of a window.
Captioning the upload, she was quick to tell her 88,000 followers there is no new pregnancy, before reflecting on some "incredible memories" in 2023. "The year our dear Frankie arrived and we made the big move to the countryside," she wrote.
"Have made some wonderful new friends this year and have made some incredible memories with the kids. I don’t take any of it for granted. Not for a second. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a good one and to all my lovely followers on this thing."
Carrie continued: "This photo was taken in June by @romybecker.photographer just a few days before Frankie arrived onto the scene, just incase you thought I might be pregnant again. I plan to spend tonight with a Chinese takeaway on the sofa watching “Lessons in Chemistry” on the box. I might toast midnight with a Baileys but equally I might be asleep by then. Bliss! Wishing you all a wonderful one, whatever you’re doing."
In his own New Year's Eve message, meanwhile, husband Boris caused a stir after appearing dishevelled in a post shared by his employer, GB News. "Hi folks. 2024 is almost upon us. So let's hope the next 12 months are a great year for our country!" It was his new look rather than his words that sparked the most reaction on social media, however.
Greggs, Costa & Pret coffees have 'huge differences in caffeine', says reportOne X (formerly Twitter) user wrote: "Boris Johnson has either had an electric shock or just got out of bed lol... Look at the state on him." Another said: "What's he done with his hair! I know he likes it "au naturel" but bloody hell!". Another asked: "What has happened to him?"
A third added: "Boris, well done on the weight loss. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I recommend getting a nice smart hair cut. You'll be significantly more respected." And a fourth joked: "His appearance gives the impression that he's suffering from Diarrhoea at both ends."
