Met Police's wall of shame – disgraced cops sacked for gross misconduct in 2023
Over the past 12 months the Metropolitan Police has purged a number of dodgy coppers from its ranks, including an officer who shared an image of necrophilia and another who raped 12 women.
Since the start of 2023, the Met has sacked 100 of its boys in blue as it tries to root our predators from the scandal-hit force. in a desperate attempt to claw back its poor public image.
As the end of year approaches, around 350 Met cops were awaiting hearings accused of gross misconduct. Another 1,600 cops and staff are facing investigations over violence against women or sex crimes.
Below, we've compiled a list of a handful of the disgraced coppers fired by Scotland Yard over the past year....
PC Liam Boshein - Rookie finds himself behind bars for sharing decapitated sex act image

PC Liam Boshein, 25, was sentenced to 42 weeks inside after he admitted to possessing a "grossly offensive" image showing two men having sex with the decapitated body of a woman.
The court heard how Boshein's behaviour, in which he shared the image with a fellow officer, fell into a "wider culture" of cops trying to one-up each other by sharing more and more offensive images.
PC Liam Boshein leaving Portsmouth Magistrates' Court (PA)The disgraced copper accompanied the sickening image with a message to a fellow trainee, which said the necrophilic image was "still not as bad as the pregnant bird". The image he was referring to was one of a woman giving birth with a man's erect penis beside her.
Boshein claimed that he had been "shocked" when he first saw the offending image and claimed it had not aroused him sexually. A search of his mobile device found the image was the only one of a pornographic nature of the 296,000 images on his device.
Decorated firearms cop David Carrick exposed as vicious sex attacker and jailed for life
Met cop David Carrick was trusted as a firearms officer protecting lawmakers and diplomats (PA)While outwardly presenting himself as a credit to the force, Constable David Carrick - who was trusted as a firearms officer for parliamentary, government and diplomatic premises - was leading a double life in which he routinely preyed on women.
Due to his position, he thought himself untouchable and exempt from the law, which allowed him to subject his victims to the most vile, degrading sexual abuse and threats.
Thanks to the bravery of his victims, authorities had the proper evidence to mount a full investigation, which eventually saw him locked up with a life sentence, with a minimum term of 30 years and 239 days.
Carrick during his arrest (PA)He pleaded guilty to 24 counts of rape as well as charges of sexual assault, controlling and coercive behaviour and false imprisonment, with Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb telling the disgraced policeman "you behaved as if you were untouchable".
During the two-day sentencing hearing, some of his crimes were read out in court. On one occasion, he sent a victim a photo of himself holding a police-issue gun, with a caption that said: "Remember I am the boss".
'I tricked my sister into giving her baby a stupid name - she had it coming'
Another told how the monster raped her repeatedly while holding a blank handgun to her head and wrapping his hands around her throat. One photo showed the cupboard under the stairs of his London flat where he would strip a woman and hold her naked as a form of "punishment".
Sergeant Laurence Knight jailed over stag do sex attack
Laurence Knight was jailed after being found guilty of sexaully assaulting a woman while on a stag do (PA)Once a high-flying chemistry student at Oxford University, Sergeant Laurence Knight now spends his days among the men he used to lock up as a police sergeant.
Knight, 34, assaulted a woman while on a night out to celebrate his upcoming marriage in Brighton in July 2021. Before the attack, he and his pals had been partying with strippers at an AirBnb they'd rented.
The copper met the victim in the city centre before taking her to Brighton beach, where the attack took place.
His victim was left with deep psychological wounds and has needed therapy since the attack. The woman's mother told the court: "She was broken, defeated, unrecognisable as my precious daughter who is usually so full of life. Her innocent view of the world and of those in it was destroyed that night."
He was hit with a two-year sentence for his crime.
Part-time paratrooper PC Alexei Zalesskiy fired for bashing child
PC Alexei Zalesskiy was sacked alongside his colleague PC Conor Ryan for punching and kicking a 14-year-old during an arrest.
The duo also went on to lie about the attack in their statements, missing out their use of excessive force.
Zalesskiy, who competed in martial arts, and his partner were found to have assaulted the boy, who was part of a group stopped by officers on suspicion of carrying knives. The boy spat in Zalesskiy's face before running off, sparking a chase. The pair ran after him and Zalesskiy punched they boy at least once on the side of the head. Ryan was said to have kicked him in the "neck/head" area and struck in with his knee in the thigh.
CCTV later proved that their account was false after they lied about the severity of the boy's behaviour. They have been barred from employment in policing.
After he lost his job, Zalesskiy has retrained to become a stuntman, according to reports.
PC Sam Grigg whose fetish was handcuffing and arresting women jailed
PC Sam Grigg had found himself in a career which also allowed him to recreate the sick fantasies in his head. Bondage-obsessed Grigg reportedly became aroused by handcuffing and arresting women.
He was eventually jailed for four years after being found guilty of binding the wrists and ankles of his victim with duct tape.
The deviant took pleasure in watching her struggle to escape, the court heard, and also cut her with a blade as he took off the duct tape that was also applied to her mouth.
Describing Grigg's victim's horrific ordeal, the Judge said: "Your victim hasn't slept properly since, has experienced nightmares, didn't eat for a long time, is jumpier in everyday situations... She has self-harmed and has considered using a knife on herself as well.
"Sadly, for a wholly innocent victim, she has even questioned whether she was to blame, and wondered if she had brought this upon herself."
