Rob McElhenney sends request to Notts County fans and jokes about documentary
Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney has sent a message to a Notts County fan account after a post about the League Two promotion race, and declared he wants to meet the person behind the account.
The Welsh Dragons and Notts County started a fierce rivalry last year during the National League title race, with County fans taking issue with the 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary. After being asked to take part, a County fan page replied telling the Wrexham owner to "shove your s**** documentary up your a***".
The 2023/24 League Two season is seeing Wrexham looking to secure what would be back-to-back promotions up to League One, and they're once again competing with County. The Red Dragons currently lie in third place in the latest standings behind leaders Stockport County and second-placed Mansfield Town.

Notts County claimed a 5-0 win over Morecambe on Friday to move up to fifth place in the League Two table. The Magpies stand four points behind Wrexham, who occupy the third and final automatic promotion spot and a game in hand with just less than half of the season left to play.

This led to a response from McElhenney, who made a joke about his documentary 'Welcome to Wrexham' in the process.
"This continues to be one of my favourite accounts," wrote McElhenney on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday.
"No matter how many times you tell me to f*** off I’ll still be a fan. In fact, my respect will only deepen with every eviscerating comment or aggressive silence.
"One day I hope to meet you. Until then I’ll be here shoving my s**** documentary up my a***. Happy New Year to you and yours!!!!"
Wrexham and Notts County formed a heated rivalry throughout last season which saw both clubs battle for automatic promotion from the National League. Wrexham secured a record-point total of 111, which was only four ahead of the 107 that Notts County achieved to miss out being automatically promoted to the EFL.

Notts County were forced to progress through the National League playoffs, which resulted in the team facing Chesterfield Town in the final Notts needed a penalty shootout to secure the victory and join Wrexham in playing in League Two this season.
Both Wrexham and Notts County will return to the pitch on New Year's Day in League Two. Wrexham will welcome fourth-placed Barrow to the Racecourse Ground, while Notts County will go on the road to face Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.
