Billie Faiers slammed for 'flaunting her wealth' on £360-a-night Maldives hotel

Billie Faiers has once again been slammed by her own fans - who have deemed she is flaunting her wealth amid the ongoing cost of living crisis.

The 33-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex star may have amassed a sizeable crowd of social media followers over the years - but it seems they are too envious of her wealth to cope. The mum-of-three - who is married to 38-year-old businessman Greg Shepherd - has been trying to enjoy a family trip to the Maldives over the festive season.

But her sun-soaked fun could be getting dampened by a ferocious backlash from her jealous fans who are sick of seeing her spending her own money the way she wants. In baffling social media posts, fans have been slating the millionaire reality star for enjoying time away with her family at a high end hotel.

The star, along with her husband and their three children, has been relaxing at the Ayada Maldives resort, which costs upwards of £360 a night. The luxury hotel is set on an exclusive private island with crystal clear ocean views, sandy beaches and tropical plants. Luxury facilities include an award-winning spa, swimming pools and water sports - while a range of restaurants are also available for guests to dine at.

And Billie has, naturally, been sharing highlights from her trip on social media - uploading sun-drenched snaps to her Instagram page. But this has only served to infuriate some of her fans - who have taken to trolling Billie through her past posts, to blast her for “flaunting her wealth”.

Many other fans, however, have rallied to Billie’s cause, and defended her from the vicious commentary. One defensive fan wrote: “Enjoy your holiday to the max @billieshepherdofficial...You and your husband work hard for everything you have and if others don't like it, they need to stop looking at your page...SIMPLE.”

And another fan concurred, writing: “It baffles me how people say she’s bragging... it’s her life and her Instagram, no one is made to follow her so if you don’t like it unfollow! If you work hard you should be able spend your money how you like, why can’t people just be happy for others and not always have to bring them down.”

In the past, Billie has discussed how cruel comments online can get her down. She told OK! Magazine previously: “It’s horrible getting nasty comments on social media, but I feel like I’ve been in the industry so long that I’ve got a second layer of skin to it. I try to delete or block any negativity on my page towards me or my family.

“I know it’s not easy for everyone to do that, but that’s the way I try to switch off from it. Social media can be amazing, but there are also not-so-positive things that come from it. It’s hard not to go down a dark rabbit hole and bite back – I often think who actually does things like that [posting nasty comments[. You have to be a certain type of person.”
