Spencer Matthews takes freezing ice dip after concern over fitness challenge
Spencer Matthews sent fans into a frenzy as he showed off his swimming skills in freezing conditions, after sparking weight loss concerns.
The former Made in Chelsea star already announced he was gearing up for an exciting new fitness project, but now the reality TV personality is taking his strength to another level in blisteringly cold snowy conditions. Sharing a clip on Instagram of his brave workout, Spencer told fans he was ready for an "awesome day".
"Been doing this every day for a while now," he told followers. "-2•c outside this morning. Although the time spent submerged can feel uncomfortable, it is incredibly good for you and will set you up for an awesome day."
Spencer added: "Benefits are said to include: Increased blood circulation, Decreased inflammation, Improved immune system, Boosted mood, Increased metabolism. But most of all, I love it because it genuinely makes me FEEL GREAT and is a cool exercise in discipline."
It comes after the TV star addressed fans' concerns over his 'sudden weight loss'. Spencer set the record straight after followers quizzed his appearance after a dramatic transformation. Posing for a snap on Instagram, his fans couldn't help but become distracted by his looks.
Love Island breaks record as Molly-Mae Hague became parent to 8th baby from show"Oh gosh," wrote one concerned follower, commenting on the TV star's latest upload to his 816,000 fans. "Spenny, what's with the weight loss?" He was quick to clarify why he might look slightly different, teasing a 'huge' project coming in the New Year.
"I'm training for a huge event next year," Spencer explained. "Looking to raise some serious money for a great cause. Announcement coming early in the new year," he added, sparking dozens of likes and comments as some said he'd be "brilliant".
It comes after Spencer was hospitalised for two days of his family holiday after overdosing on coldsore tablets earlier this year. His wife Vogue Williams explained that their peaceful Spanish getaway was shattered back in August.
Spencer was left struggling and ended up in a hospital bed. Vogue and her auntie, who had joined them on the escape, also became ill for four days. Speaking about how their holiday rapidly went downhill on her podcast, My Therapist Ghosted Me, she joked to her co-host Joanne McNally: "Spenny was hospitalised for two days because he is a little b***h and he can’t handle it."
Shocked by the admission, Joanne asked the reason why he ended up in hospital. "Well I will tell you what, he overdosed on coldsore tablets," Vogue replied. "I am not joking, I am not joking, I’m not. He overdosed on cold sore tablets and his liver function, because he did it for a full week, taking ten of these things and he said ‘oh they’re fine’ and he did it to me when I thought I felt a tingle and he said ‘darling take six of these and you’ll be fine’ and you’re only meant to take two."
