Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin LIVE RESULT as Deontay Wilder loses to Parker

Anthony Joshua kept up his part of the bargain to set up a Deontay Wilder showdown - but his hopes of that two-fight deal worth $100million had been dashed before he even stepped in the ring.

The British heavyweight comfortably dealt with what was his semi-final against Otto Wallin as the Swedish southpaw was pulled out by his corner before the sixth round. Joshua, 34, was in total control and had hurt Wallin twice in the fifth as he closed in on the 27th career win.

But earlier, Wilder barely landed a blow as Parker cruised to victory, winning every round on one judge's scorecard as he upset the odds and ruined his rival's - and Joshua's - plan. You can recap all the action from Saudi Arabia right here...

Three-time world champion?

Eddie Hearn on Joshua's win: "He wants to become a three-time heavyweight world champion. Next year is going to be a massive year for him. It was a tough decision between the championship and Deontay Wilder. Maybe [Wilder losing] is a blessing, it’s going to be [Filip] Hrgovic for the world title. He is a dangerous man when he is that kind of mood. Every heavyweight should be on notice, he’s back."

Joshua wasn't watching Wilder fight

"I wasn’t watching, I was just focusing on myself for the whole fight week. I knew how important this fight was to me. I heard Deontay lost, so what. He will come back. Everything Deontay said about me, I could rip him apart right now but I’m going to take the higher ground and I hope he comes back. You can do anything just don’t give up, if he wants he can come back and fight another day," Joshua said of Wilder.

Joshua STOPS Wallin in one-sided fight

Joshua turned back the clock with that performance as he dominates Wallin to win by stoppage after the Swede's corner called a halt to the fight.

"I can't grade my performance, my team will judge that for me and the fans at home so I will leave it up to them. It wasn't a throwback fight, just another fight. I was telling everyone during the build-up that I had to focus on the man in front of me," Joshua said.

"All that history with Otto paid off today. I think the corner play a big role in what happens to their fighter so they can live to fight another day. I'm a fighter that has a special gift, today was my day. I'm searching for greatness, trying to improve. Ben Davison is a really great addition to my improvement."

Hearn reacts to Wilder's loss

“I’m just going to go and vomit, I’ll be back in 20 seconds,” Hearn joked. “We all know what we were working towards but I said in the build up that I didn’t rate him. Wilder had no idea, no clue. He was there at the end of the fight putting his hand up like he’d won. It’s ruined our plans but we’ve got to go and win now. If anyone is to ruin the plans, I’m delighted for Joseph Parker. It was the most one-sided heavyweight fight I’d seen.”

Parker credits Tyson Fury for win

Parker admitted that heavyweight champion Fury was instrumental in his fight preparation.

"Tyson was massive help, we trained in Ireland and moved over to England. Tyson gave us his time for sparring and we discussed with Andy some things to do, it all went to plan. I’m back! I’m ready for everything and anything," Parker said.

Wilder refuses to rule out retirement

Wilder didn't make any excuses for the defeat and also didn't rule out the possibility of hanging up his gloves when quizzed about retirement.

"Today is my daughter's birthday I'm a happy fighter, we go in here and do what we do. I'm a warrior, I'll be back soon. If not, then I appreciate the love and support everyone has given me over the years. Life is about falling and getting back up, you must get back up," Wilder said.

“My timing was off a little bit, big up to Joseph as he did a great job avoiding all of my punches. We make no excuses tonight. We’re not going to base it off inactivity, we move onto the next and live to see another day. I tried to stay calm, throw jabs and set up my right hand. I felt like I had the upper hand but these thing happen."

Wilder LOSES to Parker on points

Wilder needed a win against Parker to set up an Anthony Joshua fight that would have banked him $100million, but he came up short in a baffling performance.

"A lot of respect to Wilder, a dangerous and tough fight but we trained very hard for this. Everyone had other plans, but this was God's plan. The strategy was to stay calm and relaxed, switched on for every second. We got the win today, so Merry Christmas to us," Parker said.
