The Crown didn't use Prince Harry's recollections of key events for major reason
The Crown could have made for even more awkward viewing for the Royal family had Prince Harry's memoir been published sooner.
Annie Sulzberger, the head of research for the Netflix show, told The Telegraph that the production could have used the tome as a source had it been released a year earlier. However, she did add that here and her team of five researchers are “very careful” about relying on personal memoirs as historical fact.
She told the paper: “There were nice details in there that I think were useful and, had we got it a year earlier, maybe it would have made more of a difference.

Spare was released in January along with a promotional campaign which saw Prince Harry speak to a variety of media outlets. It was around this time that The Crown was wrapping up filming for the sixth (and final) series.
The final episodes, which were released in two parts over November and December, chart the tragic death of Princess Diana, her dalliance with Dodi Al Fayed, William and Harry’s teen years, and the former meeting Kate Middleton while studying at St. Andrew’s University.
Sulzberger said: “We were done with quite a bit of it so we didn’t go back and reshoot because Harry’s book came out.”
However, there were some tidbits which did influence the show - including the set-up of ‘Club H’, the private nightclub Prince Charles built for his sons at his Highgrove residence.

Harry has had a rough year, and to top it off, he hasn't come off very well in the new series of The Crown, despite his close working relationship with Netflix. Teenage Prince Harry is portrayed as jealous of his older, more handsome, sibling in the final series of The Crown. And there were scenes aired which showed him dressed up as a Nazi at a 'Colonials and Natives' themed party.
