Paul Scholes got straight to the point when discussing Jarrod Bowen after the West Ham striker scored in the 2-0 win over Manchester United.

The 27-year-old bagged his 12th Premier League goal of the season, second only to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. And the popularity of the England international with Hammers fans continues to soar after he scored their late winner in the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina last season.

David Moyes has seemingly tied him down to the club long-term as well, with Bowen putting pen to paper on a new seven-year-deal in October that runs until 2030. And yet, Jurgen Klopp still prompted speculation of Liverpool's interest this week when he labelled him his favourite player outside of his own club.

Speaking on TNT Sports, West Ham legend Mark Noble insisted Klopp's comments didn't concern him: "To be honest, it didn’t worry me because he’s just signed a new long-term deal with us a month ago. I think Liverpool and Jurgen have always been big fans of Jarrod. With the way that Jurgen sets his teams up and the way he plays."

Scholes went straight to the crux of the matter, questioning Noble over the notion that the striker could still be available if a club came in. "Does he have a buyout clause?" he asked.

Noble, who remains close to the West Ham first-team squad, refused to reveal that information, before adding: "He’s great and we are over the moon that he’s signed a long-term deal with us because he is the catalyst for us to bring in good players and also the way that we want to play."

Bowen joined West Ham from Hull in January 2020 for a £22million fee. He's since scored 109 times in 319 club appearances, a record that has also yielded five caps for England.

And the latest strike from the Hereford youth graduate has helped David Moyes' team leapfrog United and go seventh in the Premier League table. That follows with them qualifying for the last-16 of the Europa League as group winners.

There was an element of fortune about his goal against United, with Bowen's effort initially blocked by keeper Andre Onana. But the ball rebounded back onto him before trickling into the net before Mohammed Kudus sealed the three points.
