Joshua fight free live stream warning: Boxing fans could risk big fines or worse

Boxing fans hoping to live stream Anthony Joshua 's fight against Otto Wallin for free tonight could face a hefty fine.

Former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua looks to set up a fight against longtime rival Deontay Wilder with a win against Wallin at tonight's 'Day of Reckoning' event in Saudi Arabia. Wilder is also in action against Joseph Parker and has already agreed to fight Joshua on March 9 if they both win their respective fights.

The blockbuster fight card is available to watch on DAZN or TNT Sports Box Office and will cost UK fans £19.99. All of the fights can be streamed via the apps of both streaming services on smart TVs, tablets, laptops and game consoles, but fans have been warned against trying to watch the action illegally.

Illegal streaming services have been condemned by Kieran Sharp, CEO of the anti-piracy organisation FACT, as he told The Mirror : "These platforms are not only infringing on copyright laws but also serve as a hotbed for criminal activities. This can lead to severe consequences, including malware, fraud, and identity theft. It is crucial that consumers understand the dangers of illegal streaming and steer clear of such platforms".

Illegal streams can also bring serious criminal charges, as 58 year-old Steven Mills found out earlier this year. Mills was slapped with a a two-and-a-half year jail sentence for being the mastermind behind a illegal Premier League streaming service that netted more than 30,000 subscribers and £1million.

Research from FACT unveiled that nearly 47 per cent of people in the UK have shared, or would be willing to share, log-in details to gain access to illegal streams. Once surveyed, one in three people said they experienced fraud or had been exposed to online scams as a result of watching illegal streams.

Tonight's fight card will also feature the return of Daniel Dubois as he looks to get back to winning ways following his world title defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. Dubois is taking on disgraced drug cheat Jarrell Miller, who forced himself out of a career-changing fight with Joshua in 2019 after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.
