Warzone CODMAS event guide – earn daily rewards and Zombie Santa presents
It’s beginning to feel a lot like CODMAS, with the Warzone holiday event offering rewards, Christmas tree loot, and its own Zombie Santa.
Warzone's annual pre-Christmas event is underway, with CODMAS now live in the MW3 edition of Call of Duty's battle royale title, just in time for the festive season. Launching during MW3 Season 1, the Warzone CODMAS event thankfully does not feature the incredibly annoying Krampus character this year and is instead being replaced by the equally as loveable Zombie Santa, who will be riding the Urzikstan train and dishing out presents and bullets in equal measure.
But that's not all, because there are also tons of rewards on offer, one for each of the 12 days of Christmas in fact, as well as Christmas trees with unique weapon crates. Here's a guide to the Warzone CODMAS event, with a series of tips you can apply during this most wonderful time of the year.
Extra Layers
That festive jumper your mother has knitted for you sets the tone for the rest of Christmas day and similar can be said for the armour plates found around the Urzikstan map. Whilst it can slip your mind, those extra layers can be the difference between an early trip to the Gulag or coming out on top in an early firefight.
If the Christmas jumper can keep you warm, the heavy-duty armour can keep you in the game, so don't forget to plate up!
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thingCheck Under the Tree
As the hardest-working man over Christmas, Santa has delivered presents across Urzikstan, via several holiday crates. You can open the Tac Map to reveal their location in the match and get to the trees to earn the rewards in the vicinity.
But be ready to fight for your spot as a flare is sent up when Operators interact within the immediate area where the crates are found. Those who hold the point the longest will be gifted a chance to meet Santa himself. Which may, or may not result in a firefight, so be prepared!
It’s Lovely Weather
…for a slay ride together this year. We all know travel can be a challenge over the festive period, and it's the same situation in Urzikstan, as that pesky Zombie Santa has taken over the train. Per his usual means, Santa will be handing out presents to all the well-behaved Operators he meets. Those who choose to be naughty, on the other hand, will be met with heavy resistance. Who forgot to leave out his milk and cookies?
Open Fire
Warzone Season 1 brings new aftermarket parts, including the JAK Purifier, a new flamethrower underbarrel attachment for multiple weapons.
Although it's not really in the Christmas spirit, players can equip an underbarrel flamethrower and burn it all down. The JAK Purifier AMP is compatible with several weapons, including multiple assault rifles, battle rifles, and the Riveter Shotgun. And if that aftermarket part doesn't take your fancy, there are plenty of others to choose from!
On the Twelfth Day of CODMAS
Call of Duty gave to me…well that’s for you to discover, as this year’s CODMAS event will also feature a new challenge for Warzone during the 12 Days of CODMAS.
Complete these challenges to earn rewards which will be revealed on each day following the launch of the event. Who doesn't like opening gifts, especially when they're free?
Plan ahead
Whether it’s knowing when to put the roast potatoes in or dropping into a Boxing Day session of Rust, it always pays to plan ahead and know exactly what awaits you. When you're dropping into Urzikstan, it's probably best to get a contract done or loot to get some cash, because you need to get your loadout as quickly as possible.
Once you've got your loadout, which we hope is one of those included in our selection of the best Warzone loadouts for Season 1, check where the storm is and rotate towards the middle of the circle, to put yourself in the best position to grab that W.
Now, more than ever, you need to embrace your inner snowman and stay frosty.
