Supermarket customers have been told to look in their cupboards, fridges and freezers to check for food products which were pulled from sale. Tesco and Asda are among the popular retailers who have pulled items from sale in recent days and weeks.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) tends to issue recalls for a multitude of reasons, which include when products contain allergens which are not disclosed on the packaging or if plastic is found in the item. When a product is recalled, for whatever reason, the FSA shares details on what to do if you have purchased the item, alongside detailed information regarding why the item has been recalled.

A number of popular retailers have pulled items from sale in recent days and weeks, The Liverpool Echo reports. Here are some of the current warnings from Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's - including which product batches are affected, and why they have been recalled.
