Klopp told to 'bring the money' after 'laying the seeds' for Liverpool transfer

Jurgen Klopp has been told to "bring the money" if he wants West Ham's Jarrod Bowen after talking him up in midweek.

The Hammers star headed to Anfield for a last eight clash in the Carabao Cup, only to see the Reds run riot in a 5-1 success. Bowen was the man to score a classy consolation for West Ham, providing a moment of magic as he often does for the London outfit.

Klopp declared that he was his "favourite player" outside of his Liverpool squad with Michail Antonio claiming he was laying the ground work for a potential move. Bowen's future was recently secured when he penned a seven-year deal at the London Stadium and the Reds would have to pay top dollar if they want the winger.

The West Ham star said on the Footballer’s Football Podcast :“Jurgen Klopp said before the game that Jarrod Bowen is his favourite player in the league other than his own players. I think he’s trying to lay those seeds man, he wants Jarrod."

Antonio also added: “He can lay the seeds all he likes mate. The man has just signed a seven year deal bro, if he wants that, he can bring the money. Who’s he going to replace, obviously he plays on the right? Are you hinting at something here? Are you letting Salah go yeah?”

Bowen has continued to go from strength to strength whilst at the Hammers having moved from Hull City several years ago. He's on track to produce his best goalscoring season to date and is firmly in the thoughts of England boss Gareth Southgate.

Liverpool are well stocked in attack with a host of quality names including Salah, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo. There has been talk though of Salah departing to Saudi Arabia should a mammoth offer come in, which would leave Klopp looking to fill a sizeable hole in his frontline.

West Ham have shown themselves willing to let their top players go for the right fee. Declan Rice was idolised at the London Stadium but the club didn't stand in his way when he sought a new challenge with Arsenal paying a club-record fee to land him.

Bowen though differs to Rice with the Gunners midfielder opting against signing a new deal. The current Hammers star is firmly tied down and has expressed his affection for the club. "Everyone knows what this club means to me, so committing my future until 2030 means so much to me and my family," he said when signing a new deal.
