Russell Brand enjoyed a whopping £2.1million payout from one of his companies last year.

Allegations were raised about comedian Brand, 48, during Channel 4's explosive Dispatches documentary in September, which came from a joint investigation with The Times and Sunday Times. The Get Him To The Greek actor was accused of a rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse. Brand strongly denies all the allegations made against him.

The incidents allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013, during the height of his fame while he was working for Channel 4 on Big Brother spin-off shows EFourum and Big Brother’s Big Mouth as well as on BBC programmes and starring in Hollywood films. In November, Channel 4 boss Alex Mahon announced its internal investigation into separate rape, assault and emotional abuse allegations made against its former presenter Russell Brand is just 'weeks away' from being completed.

Earlier this week, it was revealed Brand had reportedly been interviewed over 'further' alleged historic sex offences.

A police spokesperson told The Mirror: "A man in his 40s attended a police station in south London on Thursday, 14 December for a second time. He was interviewed under caution by detectives in relation to a further six non-recent sexual offences.

"The same man previously attended a police station on Thursday, 16 November for questioning. The man in his 40s has now been questioned in relation to nine alleged offences. Enquiries continue."

Meanwhile, Brand's firms accrued a lot of money between 2021 and 2022 - before the allegations were made public. His main firm Pablo Diablo’s Legitimate Business Firm Ltd’s profit was at £4,878,863, up from £4,070,420 - making it a jump of £808,443 for the year ending in December 2022.

The accounts show that the profit for the year was actually £2,908,443, but the 'distribution to owners', Brand, amounted to £2.1M in dividends. Last month, The Mirror revealed Brand raked in up to £350,000 from his video rants since the allegations came out and YouTube cut off the 48-year-old comic’s cash.

Since he was first accused in September, he has made an estimated £350,000 on video platform Rumble. He previously urged fans to sign up to Rumble, with viewers paying a minimum of $60 (£48) a year to subscribe to the comedian's channel. Meanwhile, Brand has vehemently insisted all of his relationships “were absolutely, always consensual”. YouTube banned the celebrity from monetising his videos when the allegations emerged.

His 51 clips on Rumble – which boasts of being “immune to cancel culture” – have been viewed 43 million times. Top earners on the site make about £8 per 1,000 views. Some of the comedian's videos have included anti-vaccine rants, talk of “surveillance robots” and a claim Google influenced the US Presidential election in favour of Joe Biden.

Tory MP Nigel Mills said: “These sorts of companies have a responsibility. Parts of the internet are like the Wild West of disinformation.”
