A news reporter in Canada appeared to have a medical emergency on air on the weekend.

Fortunately, Jessica Robb is said to have been "feeling better" since then.

Jessica was reporting live for CTV Edmonton on Sunday night (January 8). Her segment was cut short though in the middle of her speaking to anchor Nahreman Issa.

Shortly after her report began, Jessica seemed slightly dazed and faint. The correspondent stumbled over her words before addressing the situation to her colleague.

The reporter - who covers news in Edmonton, in the province of Alberta - said: "Sorry Nahreman." She added: "I'm not feeling very well right now and I'm about to ..."

Jessica, who was broadcasting from an outside location, appeared to lose her balance moments later. Her feed then ended and the show returned to Nahreman in the studio.

Nahreman subsequently told viewers: "We will make sure that Jessica is okay and we will give you guys an update a little bit later." She added that the reporter was not alone.

Footage of the incident has since been shared by the Daily Mail. It's also appeared on social media, with some viewers expressing well-wishes over Jessica in response to it.

News station CTV Edmonton later stated in a tweet that Jessica was "feeling better" and "resting". It has since issued a statement, on her behalf, about the recent broadcast.

Jessica said in the message: "On Sunday night, a very personal and vulnerable moment unfolded as I reported live on air. Since then, it has been shared thousands of times, along with baseless theories about the cause."

She continued: "To everyone who has reached out with supportive messages of well wishes and concern, thank you. It's been overwhelming, and while I can't get to all the messages, please know I've seen them and appreciate every single one."

Jessica added that she has also received "an overwhelming amount of harassment and hatred", which she said was "tied to false theories about the reason for the incident."
