Sarah Ferguson shared a rare photo of the late Queen's corgis that she adopted last year and an adorable update.

The Duchess of York, 64, adopted two of the late Queen’s corgis, Muick and Sandy, after her death and they now live with her and her ex-husband Prince Andrew in their Royal Lodge home in Windsor.

On Monday she took to Instagram to share a new photo of them as well as a heartwarming update about how they are doing.

On Instagram, the 64-year-old uploaded a gorgeous photo of Sandy and Muick sitting eagerly in a patio area, captioning it with: “always begging for treats!” Her update was welcomed by her fans with one follower commenting: “Bless them. Look at those little faces. Now how can you resist?" while another chimed in: "So good to see them! Thank you for sharing".

A third commented: "The best person to look after our late beloved queen's prized fur babies! You are a wonderful person @sarahferguson15. Hope you all have the best Christmas and new year," and a fourth added: "Love seeing these two and how well they are doing".

Since adopting the late Queen’s corgis, the author shared updates of her new pets. In November, the Duchess came onto This Morning where she spoke about how her new canines were settling into their new home.

She revealed that the pups are still grieving. She said: "Last year I found myself welcoming to the family two corgis in need of a home after the passing of Her Majesty The Queen… I have Muick and Sandy and five Norfolk terriers, so there are now seven [] in total. Muick had his tail down to begin with and now a year later he’s only just beginning to really enjoy himself."

Graeme Hall, also known as The Dogfather for his expertise on all things canine, said it's commonplace for dogs to grieve for their owners. He said on the programme: "We do know that dogs go through a grieving process and you certainly see behaviour change. But they do sort themselves out and you’ll find that they will intermingle." Sarah added: "Yes, they all do get on now. But you have to be mindful, they all have their own characters."

In her lifetime, it's thought that the Queen owned 30 corgis, each with their own unique name. Other royal Corgis include Susan, Willow, Holly, Vulcan, Dookie, Monty, Honey, Berry, Emma, and Linnet.
