The Strictly Come Dancing 2023 season has come to an end, with Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola being named this year's champions - but were YOU happy with the result?
The 22-year-old actor made history after beating Bobby Brazier and Layton Williams in Saturday’s final, as she became the youngest ever Strictly winner. Each contestant performed three spectacular routines during the tense show, with Ellie bringing an American Smooth, Showdance, and Paso Doble to the ballroom.
While the dancing duo scooped a perfect 40 points for their American Smooth, they struggled with their last daring lift in the Showdance, as they were handed a score of 36. However, judge Motsi Mabuse gave the pair a standing ovation, while an emotional Craig Revel Horwood labelled the Coronation Street dancer “amazing”.
Speaking about her win, a lost for words Ellie said: "I actually, genuinely cannot believe this," as a sobbing Vito said: "Don't talk to me." An amused Ellie responded: "This is the first time I have seen him cry, for once you're crying more than me so this is for you, this is for you."
Fans of the BBC One show rushed to X to share their reaction, as one user penned: "Wow unexpected result but Ellie is a deserving winner. They were all fantastic finalists tonight and all deserved the glitter ball trophy. Thanks #strictly for another great season!"

Another gushed: "ELLIE AND VITO!!! YESSSSS THE PUBLIC MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!!! Now get married you two, you beautiful pair!!!" While a third shared: "The right result, Ellie won the popular vote by improving throughout the series, giving us some amazing dances and being a genuinely nice person."
However, some fans argued that Layton and Nikita should have lifted the Glitterball as they scored higher and topped the leaderboard with 119 points. Taking to social media, one viewer expressed: "I’m sorry but Layton & Nikita was robbed #strictly", while a different account put: "Ellie was a superb contestant but Layton has been absolutely robbed there."
Others have shared their frustration that Bobby and Dianne didn’t win, as one watcher wrote: "I want to say Bobby and Dianne were robbed. They should have won," while a second echoed: “Me personally, i think that Bobby Brazier should have won Strictly, I'm sorry I love Ellie but did you see her scores in the final, Bobby did much better I'm sorry if I offend anyone."
