Waterloo Road star announces wife is pregnant as he shares sweet photo
BBC Waterloo Road star Tom Payne has announced he will become a dad again as his wife is pregnant with the couple's second baby.
The 40-year-old actor started out as troubled Brett Aspinall in the school drama, but found his footing on AMC's The Walking Dead, portraying Paul 'Jesus' Rovia. He shared the news that his wife, Jennier Ackerman, is expecting on Instagram, after reposting a sweet photo originally posted by the 34-year-old model and singer. The couple already share a son, who turns two in January.
The adorable picture shows stunning Jennifer posing with her bump, as she attended an event held by Vogue this week.
Performing under the name Final Child, the model and singer tagged her partner of 13 years, and wrote: "Here we go again @thetompayne." It was followed with a heart emoji.
Tom reshared the snap on his account with peeking eye emojis.
Greggs, Costa & Pret coffees have 'huge differences in caffeine', says reportThe Somerset native has found success state-side, but not before playing George Best in Best: His Mother's Son as well as roles in a string of TV shows. His defining role was in The Walking Dead, in which he appeared until the end of the ninth series. He was also cast as the leading role of a serial killer in US drama Prodigal Son.
He married Jennifer in December 2020, after their original wedding was postponed due to Covid.
And Tom isn't the only Waterloo Road alumni to be expecting, with former co-star Chelsee Healey announcing she is also pregnant. She shared the "shock" news in July, saying that she's missed being pregnant after welcoming daughter Coco five years ago. Her first child was with ex-boyfriend Jack Molloy, but she thinks the timing is "just right" to welcome another addition to the family.
Speaking to Closer magazine at the time, Chelsee said: "I'm so excited to be pregnant again. I feel like the timing is just right. I adored my bump last time with Coco, I've actually missed it."
Explaining that she'd always wanted a "little team of babies", she would be open to having another in future. But although she's not gone officially public with her new partner, she has spoken about how "supportive" the relationship is.
She told Closer: "This is the most supportive relationship I've ever been in. My friends and family love him, and he's the first bloke I've introduced Coco [daughter, aged five] to, which says a lot. I knew he was The One within three to four months." Hollyoaks star Chelsee, 35, said that despite kissing a lot of "frogs", she knows her latest man is "marriage material".
