Delicious value-for-money Christmas desserts to enjoy this festive season
“Life is always non-stop in our house and Christmas is no different,” says Helen Price from Leamington Spa, who is married to Ryan and mum to Toby, 13, William, 11, and Lottie, six.
“It’s about getting together for lots of love and laughter, family and food,” she says.
Helen is a slimming consultant with a sweet tooth. “Christmas is about having time together and spoiling everyone a little. A bit of indulgence doesn’t hurt,” she adds.
“I’ve got my eye on a few different treats for Christmas and I like to have them ready in the freezer, so I stock up at Iceland,” Helen says. “I like the variety and the value of them for such good quality.”
So what does she choose? “It’s hard!” says Helen.
Shop prices 'are yet to peak and will remain high' as inflation hits new heights“We love anything chocolatey, so it could be an Iceland Luxury Triple Chocolate Cheesecake, the Luxury Strawberry and White Chocolate Gateau, or the classic Chocolate Gateau. I can’t believe that’s only £2.25.” The Millionaire’s Cheesecake is only £2.25 too.
When Helen’s hosting, the Luxury Caramelised Biscuit Sticky Toffee Star is a winner, and the kids will love the new Maltesers Bubble Dessert.
“I love to save and bag a bargain, so I’m tempted by Iceland’s three for £10 selection” says Helen.
Savour the savings on the Luxury Triple Chocolate Gateau and mix and match with other multibuy items in-store too.
“I always look out for Greggs and Slimming World branded products,” Helen adds.
“I also fancy the Luxury Perfect Caramel Profiterole Gateau which is only £5, or the £7 Luxury Gold Billionaire Bar which, given the choice, I wouldn’t be sharing with anyone,” she jokes.
“I love Iceland’s frozen fruit too, so I’ll definitely be having some of that.”
This year Helen and her crew are moving house just before Christmas and they’ve been invited to spend the big day with Helen’s sister and her two children, her brother and his two.
So she’ll be taking a good selection of treats to share when they land on her sister’s doorstep. “We’re really looking forward to Christmas,” she says.
