Miles Morales swings across the Spider-Verse in Marvel's epic saga

The latest blockbuster featuring everyone’s favourite web-slinging superhero is finally here. Later this month, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will make its TV debut just in time for Christmas.

The animated saga – from writing duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller – takes place in a separate universe independent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and follows up-and-coming young superhero Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who took up the mantle of Spider-Man after the death of his universe’s Peter Parker. This epic sequel thrusts Miles into an adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) – a Spider-Person from another universe.

Along with a new team of Spider-People from every corner of the Spider-Verse, Miles must face off with a villain more powerful than anything he has ever encountered. Across the Spider-Verse serves as the second instalment of a trilogy, following 2018’s Oscar-winning Into the Spider-Verse and ahead of Beyond the Spider-Verse.

‘Beyond’ was originally slated for a March 2024 release, but production ground to a halt during the SAG-AFTRA strike. Production on the threequel has now resumed, but it’s unlikely to release within the next year.
