A mum has issued a stark warning to other parents after her two year old daughter was left in a full-body brace following a terrifying accident at a playground.

Amelia Zamora had taken her little girl for a fun day out at an amusement park in Southern California when the day took a horrifying turn. Zamora shared how her daughter wanted to go down a slide that seemed too steep for her to go alone. So, she decided to join her on the slide. But halfway down, she realised they were about to slide onto concrete at the bottom.

She said: "I tried to stop us and the momentum and sheer force of us together, I knew I was going to end up landing on top of her, so I tried to turn my body. The side of my body was all messed up, and then she ended up landing on her knee and fractured and broke her femur bone."

Zamora shared that her daughter's injuries didn't immediately show, so she and her husband took her home. However, they later noticed their little girl was sweating excessively. Zamora said: "We went into the ER and they checked her out and admitted her. Me and my husband actually got questioned because apparently that type of break is big in child abuse."

She was told her daughter needed a cast from her legs right up past her rib cage. Zamora told PEOPLE: "The cast goes from her rib cage right below her chest all the way down the broken leg to her ankle, and then the other side, it goes to her kneecap. They had to put her under, cast her and all that. And then we were in that for four or five weeks."

Zamora made a TikTok video about her daughter's injury to warn parents about old, steep slides. She warned: "So here's my PSA to those parents who think it won't happen to them: don't risk it."

"Hold their hand off the side or just give them encouragement to go alone and if the slide looks too steep, be prepared to catch them at the bottom because looking back, I wish I would've just told her 'not that slide,'" Zamora advised in her TikTok video caption.
