Activision Blizzard’s hellish action RPG is set to get festive later today, with new activities and rewards arriving as part of Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight.

As previously announced during this year’s BlizzCon 2023, Diablo 4’s very first festive event is set to get underway very soon. It’s called Midwinter Blight and sees an especially bleak frost sweep its way throughout Sanctuary’s Fractured Peaks area, being a free limited-time experience for anyone playing on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC to enjoy. If you want to know when you can jump in, Activision Blizzard has just made the Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight release time known.

The Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight holiday event represents the very first for the action RPG, arriving during the middle of Season of Blood’s gamut of endgame activities. Whereas Diablo 4’s seasonal content lasts for a minimum of three months, however, the Midwinter Blight content isn’t expected to last for nearly as long. Here’s when the Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight release time is exactly and for how long the event is set to last.

Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight: release time

Activision Blizzard has confirmed in an official news post that the Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight release time is 6pm GMT / 1pm EST / 10am PST on Tuesday, December 12. The studio also confirmed that the event will run from then all the way up until January 2, 2024, giving you plenty of time to enjoy all the new winter content and reap the new rewards. However, Activision Blizzard provided no official end time on that date has been given.

Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight: how to access

Starting the Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight event is incredibly straightforward, it turns out. All you need to do is head to the main city of Kyovashad and speak to Gileon the bard located in Midwinter Square. It’s here where he’ll explain to you how, as Activision Blizzard puts it, “rumors about spiteful dangers lurking in the snow” have been heard. This kicks off the main meat of the event, where you must assist Gileon in bringing back the holiday spirit by facing off against a mysterious Red-Cloaked Horror.

Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight: available rewards

Obviously, the main reason anyone will want to jump into the Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight event is for the rewards, right? Luckily, we now know a lot more about how this will work. The rewards are being referred to by Activision Blizzard as “Frost-Weathered Trinkets” and are gained by bringing any earned Lost Heirlooms and Blighted Fragments back to the collection table in Midwinter Square once gained and trading them for a new currency, Midwinter Proofs.

Midwinter Proofs can then be traded (again) for the aforementioned Frost-Weathered Trinkets. Here’s the confirmed list of rewards up for grabs so far:

  • Mount Trophy
  • Class-specific Back Trophies
  • Weapon Cosmetics
  • Shard of Dawn (Legendary Aspect)
  • Gileon’s Brew
  • And more…

We’ll have a better idea of what the rewards will be outside of these categories once the Midwinter Blight event kicks off. Luckily, we don’t need to wait too much longer given that the Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight release time is now just around the corner.
